I purchased this at Lowes for twenty bucks. It has average heat output (compared to other 1500w space heaters), you'd never really use half the elements by turning only one switch on (notice the two switches on the front controling the heat output - not the fan) so I leave both switches on all the time for this heater. The fan is a little noisy (will not wake you up but might prevent you from going to sleep) and the thermostat is too eager, meaning it cycles the heater on and off a bit too frequently so it seems there is only 1 or 2 degrees F. of a span. A properly calibrated thermostat should run the heater a little higher than the temperature desired and only start it again a little lower than the temperature set, so that the off cycles at least, are say 5'-10' apart. Also it is not a ceramic heater so in very cold rooms you might need a pot of water in the room or in front of it to bring the humidity up. But, the characteristic that made me buy the DeLonghi DUH500L is that it is ALL METAL and apart from the initial odor break-in period (20'), there is no toxic plastic odor coming out. To me that is a big plus and most ceramic heaters having a plastic housing do smell forever. I'd pay $50 if it had a quieter fan (or at least two fan speeds) and a better thermostat. But for $20 it does the job in an average sized bedroom without any health concerns.

Needed a heater for a large bedroom and this one does not get the room too warm. The automatic settings work very well. It is very durable. Excellent for the price over models similar in price but cheaply made. Great price for a DeLonghi.

I like this heater because you can actually shut it off, unlike similar heaters. Also, I like that you can adjust the dial to give off intermittent heat instead of having it run all the time.

I bought this heater to keep a heat exchanger in a carpet cleaning van warm. The van is not insulated and during the polar vortex everything liquid in the van froze except the heat exchanger. This heater kept the heat exchanger housing at a temperature of 52 degrees in a sub zero outside environment. This heater saved me numerous times an expensive repair bill of $5000 and up twice!. I would recommend this heater 1000 times over. It's extremely reliable, I have been using it now for 4 years for 6 months at a time each year. Running non stop everyday and it has never died. If it tips over or the power goes out it will cut out and turn back on itself. This heater is by far a definite must by in regards to reliability and it being a safe heater.

I like the style and construction, all metal, no plastic odor. A bit noisy but it does keep me warm.

This is the second heater we purchased. We still have the first one and it has worked great for well over a year. When a co-workers office heater went out we purchased this one for their office and it works great. Powerful heater for it's size. We appreciate that is has safety features as well.
