Worst customer service experienced via a product purchased on Amazon,
By
This review is from: DeLonghi EO1260 Stainless-Steel Toaster Oven with Broiler (Kitchen)
I purchased this product based on the features and the fact it has a one year warranty. After 6 months is stopped working. Calling DeLonghi they said they would replace it. The next week they said no and told me to take it to a repair center they authorized that was out of town. Took it to the repair center and one week later they said it could not be fixed and DeLonghi was sending a new one. One week later I called DeLonghi and they said they never told the repair center they would replace. Instead they would send parts in 'a few weeks.' 8 weeks since the oven stopped working and I still do not know when or if I will ever get it back. Amazon should black-list DeLonghi as a vendor due to horrific customer service!

Delonghi = defective by design,
By
This review is from: DeLonghi EO1260 Stainless-Steel Toaster Oven with Broiler (Kitchen)
We had a rude awaking today, our Delonghi toaster was on fire. I will never again buy any Delonghi product. The defective design is in the toast switch. It is mechanical. When it finishes toasting, it sometimes continues to the "Always On" position thus leaving the toaster oven on toast: very, very hot. We literally had a house full of smoke & a toaster full of flames. You were warned.
Funny thing is, Delonghi makes an attractive product. Sad thing is, they can cost you your house or worse.

DeLonghi customer service is AWFUL!,

This review is from: DeLonghi EO1260 Stainless-Steel Toaster Oven with Broiler (Kitchen)
I purchased this toaster oven because I loved its exterior design and thought it would look great in my kitchen. It did... until the middle knob came off after less than 6 months of use. I've been using a pair of pliers to turn it on for the last 5 months while I await my replacement part. I have followed-up on my request with DeLonghi customer service on a number of occassions and they offer no solution other than to continue to wait. I even left a message with a supervisor and received no response whatsoever. I vow to never buy a DeLonghi product again. Still waiting for that knob...

Already broken...,
This review is from: DeLonghi EO1260 Stainless-Steel Toaster Oven with Broiler (Kitchen)
I purchased this high-end toaster oven because I wanted /needed a proficient smaller oven for smaller baking needs. After 5 months of moderate usage, however, the middle knob has malfunctioned and it will no longer bake. Other than that I was satisfied with the product. I called their customer service and to get it repaired under warranty, will have to ship it at least 250 miles away, at my expense. What a hassle. I may just go buy a cheap toaster oven to replace it instead of spending the time and money on postage. Live and learn....just because a product costs more doesn't mean it's better.

Nice Look, Not so Nice Features,

1. Knobs fell off within a few weeks. Nice appearance but very cheaply made.
2. Replacement knobs are on backorder for 4 weeks, apparently, it happens alot. I don't expect the new knobs to last very long either if it's the same design. 3. The on/off switch is connected to the timer. When cooking is done, the timer should "ding". But when I switch it from on to off, it shouldn't ding also! 4. The on/off light indicator is impossible to see unless you're in pitch darkness. Seems like a hazard to me. 5. Other than that, it works..so far. It does have a nice Stainless Steel look however.

Great Toaster Oven - Nice size!,
This review is from: DeLonghi EO1260 Stainless-Steel Toaster Oven with Broiler (Kitchen)
This is a really great toaster oven! I just recently bought it and I am delighted to say that I won't need to be returning it. It looks beautiful, however, finger prints are very noticeable on its completely stainless steel exterior. I haven't tried a 12 inch pizza yet, so I'm not too sure if it can really crank one of those out. But for the basic uses of a toaster oven, it has a very even "toast" or "bake." Clean-up is easy with it's removable crumb tray, and it's also not ungodly big like my previous toaster oven. I LOVE making biscuits in this thing! They are perfect!! My other toaster oven would burn the outside and inside, they would still be doughy. This thing cranks biscuits out perfetcly!
It could be a tad quieter though.... UPDATE: I wish I could change my star rating to 1 or 2! The chrome metal right by the opening of the door is becoming discolored! You know that yellowish brownish look. It's not bad right now, but in the forseeable future, it will be pretty noticeable. I'm pretty ticked off that I spent $100 on a toaster that has a design flaw....ugh

this is NOT a convection toaster oven,
By well read consumer (Brooklyn, NY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: DeLonghi EO1260 Stainless-Steel Toaster Oven with Broiler (Kitchen)
I have no idea why this is called a Convection Toaster Oven. Convection cooking is not a feature on this model. The light indicator is almost impossible to see. The manual instructs you to turn the Toaster -Bake feature off every time you toast even though the bell rings indicating it is off; seems to be an unnecessary chore. The stainless steel exterior shows finger smudges and it is not easy to remove. It toasts well but seems to take a very long time when toasting more than 2 slices especially if you like more well done toast. In the future I will stay away from the higher end products and rely on the basic mid-priced toaster ovens.

Defective switch, poorly thought-out,

Very happy with capacity, appearance, etc. Switch design makes this "designed to be defective" toaster ultimately dangerous to house and home. Our switch went after a year (past warrenty period) and the toaster cannot now be turned off except via the plug. We're sending it to the landfill (which is sickening) and buying a toaster oven from someone else. Sad.

DeLonghi EO1260 Esclusivo Stainless-Steel Toaster Oven with Broiler The heating element on this product stopped working after 6 weeks. I contacted customer service, and they told me to ship it, at my own expense, to a DeLonghi service center. I can't see going to that trouble and expense for what appears to be a defective product. (Also, my husband hated the loud ticking when the toaster was on.) I will not buy a DeLonghi product again.

Overpriced inferior product,

This review is from: DeLonghi EO1260 Stainless-Steel Toaster Oven with Broiler (Kitchen)
Paid about $150.00 a couple of years ago for one. Had to physically wrestle with the unit to get the crumb tray out(I let that go). It arrived with one of the rubber feet on the bottom missing (I let that go). It worked fine for about 6 months, then the timer wouldn't shut off the elements when the time was done. About 6 months later, the bottom elements stopped working completely. The most expensive thing I've had to throw in my garbage can that I can remember. I've had $39.00 toaster ovens that worked better and lasted many years longer than this.
I just bought a Kitchen Aid toaster oven (another $150.00) - too early to judge this, but appears and feels better made. |
