Great but...,
This review is from: DeLonghi Esclusivo DC414T 14 Cup Programmable - Glass - Stainless/Black
The DeLonghi DC414T is a nice looking and nice brewing coffee maker with a lot of features, but...You cannot pour a cup of coffee without spilling half the pot. I promise that I tried and tried and tried and tired of trying. The carafe on this maker is a reason to NOT BUY! If you decide to buy, make twice the amount of coffee you would like to drink because the other half will be soaked in the towel.

Leaky Coffee Pot!,
This review is from: DeLonghi Esclusivo DC414T 14 Cup Programmable - Glass - Stainless/Black
I bought this for my office staff and we are replacing it for a few reasons.1. It leaks badly! The am in total agreement with the other reviewers. The coffee pot spout and lid are so wide and lacks a proper seal thus creating a constant leaky pour. It's a mess around the coffee maker and the over-spill makes for a messy mug as well. 2. The coffee pot (carafe) broke after only 3 months of use. It simply cracked into pieces when we removed it from the burner one day - not sure why! The replacement pot is almost as much as the entire coffee maker so I've decided to buy another coffee maker - not this model for sure.

Great coffee, for a while,

I bought this coffee maker about 6 months ago, and it's been excellent. It makes great coffee, and lots of it, and has all the features you want on a coffee maker. It's filter-less as well, which I really like. I never had any of the problems with spills that other reviewers had, but you do need to pay attention when pouring as the carafe's spout is a bit large. That said, after just over 6 months, the unit died. The coffee was great, but the overall experience wasn't.

Time settings suck,

Got this as a wedding gift.My biggest gripe with this machine is the one-button time setting. If you unplug it, or the electric goes out, you have to hold the time button and let it go at its own pace to set the clock. God forbid you have to get up a half-hour earlier the next morning, because setting the brew time by holding one button means you have to let it cycle through 23 hours to get to 1/2 hour earlier. Boo. Hiss. Something that advertises itself as programmable shouldn't be harder to set than an alarm clock. The carafe is fine for me, I don't get the spill problems these people seem to be having. Brew-wise, this coffee maker works fine as well. I've brewed all types of coffee including espresso ground with no problem using the included screen filter. Easier than paper, but kind of a pain to rinse out thoroughly.

Hope you like spills,

The coffee maker works fine. The carafe that they supply with it.. not so much. The silicone adhesive that they use to fix the plastic pour spout to the glass carafe becomes separated and thus pours coffee out below the pour spout and onto the counter or floor or basically whatever is below the pot. Poorly designed. For the money you probably would best be advised to look elsewhere.

Interesting about all the complaints. I have had mine for a year and the only thing I don't like is the setting of the start time... No dial, you have to wait while it runs though all the hours! Other than that great coffee everytime and having a permanent filter is better than messing with paper..
