Good heat output, mediocre control,

I purchased this heater to help keep my "three season" sunroom warm in the cooler weather - not toasty warm, but above freezing and usable with a couple sweaters or a light jacket. It is solidly constructed, and the fan moves a good amount of air without being too loud. It has a timer to allow it to run and then shut off or it can run continuously, but the thermostat has no markings to indicate desired temperature. I also find that it tends to cycle on an off frequently and somewhat unpredictably, as though when it runs it heats itself up and the thermostat shuts it off prematurely. It seems to work better when laid on its side rather than standing up.
Since I purchased it to prevent a room from getting too cold but actual temperature is not a major concern it is fine. If you are looking for a heater for a primary living space where accurate and consistent temperatures are desired, this may not be the unit for you.

I was almost convinced not to buy this, buy the other amazon reviews. My own experience differs greatly. I bought this during the Friday special for $30 and free shipping. The heater is large, so make sure you note the heightxwidthxdepth numbers. This isn't a cheap small heater like the 2 dozen at walmart. The heater is much better than others (cheap walmart type) I've used in the past. The ONLY annoying thing was the timer that made a noticeable time-bomb type of sound as it counted down. HOWEVER, after close examination I noticed that there is a setting that doesn't use the timer, that also rids the user of that annoying tick. So, that detractor is gone.
Another reviewer noted that it was loud and shaky on hardwood. I disagree 100%. I'm using it on hardwood, and get no vibrations at all. The only thing I hear is the white noise of the heater working. And its no louder or quieter than what I expect from any portable heater.

This is a very decent header. The housing is big relative to the heating element. I got this unit at a very good price because it was featured in a Friday sale. The only complaint is the control; it is not intuitive or it is unnecessarily complicated. Normally, one would not need to consult the manual to understand the control for a simple heater.

I bought this heater during the Friday deal. For that price this heater is great value and a real bargain. It seems well made and has decent features. I have used it both in the tower and horizontal configuration and it provides heat quickly - feels real nice when you enter a freezing room. I am ordering a second one since we were taking it all over the house. The controls are easy to use once you get used to it. I had to refer to the manual a couple of times to understand what the various symbols on the dial meant - but it was no big deal.

Good for a small room,

I bought this heater on a Friday sale so I got a good price on it. I was looking for a small heater to warm a bathroom during Illinois winters and this has fit the bill. The heat output is great for the small room, it heats up in about 2 mins and needs to be turned down after 10 mins. The controls are not the best as mentioned in other reviews the "on" dial is like a kitchen timer that ticks all the time. But for the hour I need it in the mornings, it works really well.

OK heater,

good heater ...NOT UL certified.(this is big in my opinion almost returned it)... not for living space ... in an area where the noise from the fan wont bother you... also the cord/plug gets warm instructions says its normal but ive used other heaters and that doesnt happen. noise from fan gets worse if you lay it down on its side... also this is all on hardwood floors so if you have carpet it may reduce the sound.

This thing puts out a good amount of heat, even at the lowest settings. The casing is not some cheap plastic - it's solid metal and enormous (check the dimensions before you buy). As other reviews have mentioned, the major downsides to this heater are its controls. The dials are too easy to turn past a desired setting, and the larger dial is basically useless. When active, the timer (set by the smaller dial) makes an annoying ticking sound.
That said, this heater is great for a medium-large sized room. I keep mine set to manual mode (no timer) at the lower heat setting and it heats up my 15' x 20' room nicely. I don't really touch the controls other than to turn it on or off (manual mode to off and back) - maybe that's why I like the thing.

I use this in my shop which is in my garage. I place it on one end of my walk around work bench and it supplies all of the heat I need. I live in northern Az with outside air temps down into the mid teens at night in winter. The fan does a good job of circulating the heat. The heater itself does not get hot to the touch and the multi-position feature is a plus. A very good products for my needs.

I picked this heater up from Amazon's Friday sale for $30. It provides great heat output, and decent control. The four hour timer is a nice feature as well. Definitely recommended.
