BIG DISAPPOINTMENT,

This review is from: DeLonghi RO2058 6-Slice Convection Toaster Oven with Rotisserie (Kitchen)
I owned a Delonghi before and it died of old age. I loved it and decided to get this one. 1. Description says it's red; it's black; 2. It only goes up to 390 degrees for baking; 3. The broiler pan doesn't sit on the rack; it has it's own slot. However, broiling time is greater than my last one; fat on steak never even sizzled. When you attempt to remove the broiling pan, as it isn't resting on anything, it tilts when you take it out and it could drop and injure someone, or if using a pot holder, it could catch fire; 4. I made toast and had to put it through twice and it burned part and the rest wasn't toasted. It is now being made in China and as with most things from there, it is very inferior. Too bad.

Good overall, minor issues,

This review is from: DeLonghi RO2058 6-Slice Convection Toaster Oven with Rotisserie (Kitchen)
After extensively researching toaster ovens to replace my fried Cuisinart Classic (which I liked prior to its death), I ran across this one at a local retailer.
The major difference between this model and all the others I looked at is build quality. Think simple, solid, italian...not creaky, flimsy and chinese. The dials switch through their functions with confidence, the door opens smoothly, fittings are metal (not plastic), and generally if it's well built on the outside, it's going to last on the inside. It has a "convection" option which activates a tiny fan...who knows whether this is useful or not in such a small space. The auto-on-off oven light is a nice touch. It also does rotisserie, though I have no use for it. My issues with it? - Seemingly lower than average temperature (390 as opposed to 450 degrees F) - Takes all three dials to activate the oven. - Rack guides allow the tray to teeter/pivot if not fully in place - Toast gets dried out (typical Delonghi) so if you like toast, buy a Dualit But overall? Much better than most for the cooking I do, great value, reminds me of well built italian coffee makers from the '80s.

Caution: Safety Hazard!
While I liked all of the features of this oven it has a significant problem. The guides for the wire rack and bake pan are only at the front and back sides of the oven. Consequently, when you pull the rack out slightly it has a strong tendency to tip forward or backwards which would cause hot liquid to spill back into the oven or forward on the users hands. As much as I like this toaster oven for it's features it's being returned.
