5.0 out of 5 stars If you like Ann Rice you will love this book!
I could not put this book down. The story is original, suspenseful, well written and has great character development. It isa cross between an Ann Rice novel and a great mystery. Where is the sequel?

2.0 out of 5 stars Flat and empty...
I read this book on a recommendation that Ann Rice should beware of the new Gothic rage of Paulette Crain...sorry, there's no contest! The characters in Delore are flat, one dimensional, and wholly unrealistic... which is pretty much how the whole book was. As a gothic mystery, it was entertaining, but it lacked richness. I'm hoping her next with have some more depth,...

4.0 out of 5 stars Destiny..., December 6, 2001

This review is from: DeLore's Confession (Hardcover)
I love books that flirt with the concept of destiny. This one intertwines romance, betrayal, mystery and passion without getting too off kilter with the drama like some other stories can. I also enjoyed how the friend where bound through the history of the families. It was Great I can't wait to read the Prequel. The only thing that i was confussed on was the randomly place photo inside the book. not quite sure if that was even supposed to be there.

This has to be one of the most energetic first novels I have read in years! Passion, beautiful locations and a plot that just will not let you go! I cannot wait for the Prequel :)!!!

I'm hoping her next with have some more depth, a richer tapestry and more cohesiveness...but the prelude at the end of this looked wild and erratic...but I applaud the effort and I'll give her a chance! To be fair, Anne Rice hasn't turned out anything good in a LONG while, but wouldn't it be glorious if all gothic stories were as finetuned as The Vampire Lestat? *sigh*

5.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good, April 22, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: DeLore's Confession (Hardcover)
I thought this novel was well paced and an erotic roller coaster ride. It was a fun read from start to finish. I don't know what everyone is getting so upset about, this book seems to be a huge success and was selling like crazy at my local bookstore.

4.0 out of 5 stars Vampires Agree, April 21, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: DeLore's Confession (Hardcover)
This book is what I call a car crash book. You can't stand to read it but you can't turn away either because you're liable to read something horrific and terrifying. Paulette Crain has produced a twisted, steamy, sensual novel of terror suitable for adults only. I enjoyed it, and it's accurate, and I should know. I am a practicing vampire.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not a 5 Star Book., April 19, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: DeLore's Confession (Hardcover)
I agree with the reader who said the situations were contrived and somewhat boring---actually they were mostly boring, but that wasn't what made it a bad book. What I found hard to suffer through was all the bad sex. Now I like sex, I don't mind hearing about other people's or even watching it on TV, and no, it doen't make me uncomfortable. But I don't want to read about some fourty year old virgin who has sex with a vampire, then about her brother having sex with a vampire, and then about her having sex with her brother... About men having sex with their grandfathers and women being raped by their brother-in-laws, and so on and so on. Basically there's just too much stupid sex between a lot of people who think they're all rich and glamourous. Now, the plot line wasn't bad and I actually used to like reading Nancy Drew--when I was 12! But, there's no way I could give my 12 year old daughter this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars A very amateurish first book, March 29, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: DeLore's Confession (Hardcover)
I can only imagine that the other reviews were sent in by friends of the author or someone who has a financial stake in this book. Character development was non-existent. The situations were contrived and somewhat boring. If the author is supposed to be the "New Ann Rice," heaven help us.

5.0 out of 5 stars Passion and desire of every type, March 10, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: DeLore's Confession (Hardcover)
A wonderful work from a female author, Recaptures the horror stories of the past. One travels through the different scenes just as in life ....... From joy to fear from tension to relief from desire to confession. Its a must read not only for the gothic reader, but for any one who enjoys reading. I loved every page even wanted to turn ahead just to find out the ending....
