I thought this movie was well done, and very well acted in.It has been awhile since stephanie zimbalist has been in anything, and this role was perfect for her.I also enjoyed Brenden Fletchers performance as her son.

I had seen this movie on HBO years ago, and decided to purchase the VHS tape. There are no holds barred in recreating this actual and startling event. All the performances are first rate, not the least of which is Capt. Hazelwood, who can't give a urine sample ("if you can't piss, you can't piss!) Christopher Lloyd as Exxon's beleaugered CEO, trying to overcome the disaster, gives a memorable performance. One negligent act caused damage beyond belief. I don't feel sorry for Exxon and the billions they spent on the clean up. The Cordova fishermans' business suffered, not to mention all the precious wildlife in the Sound. Pregnant women were allegedly affected as well from burning an oil slick! A must see film that helps you understand corporations, greed, politics, neglect, public relations, and why innocent birds and mammals have a much happier life and are in tune with nature where human beings aren't. Don't miss Rip Torn's role as a hotshot Coast Guard exec who tangles with president Bush's aide.

I liked it (my wife didn't). Both of us like Ms. Zimbalist, especially in "The Man in the Brown Suit" which I could not find on the internet and had to convert my only fair pre-digital VHS recording to DVD. We have enjoyed "Remington Steele" for years. I was glad to get the VHS copy of Dead Ahead, as my 'taped from TV' was very poor quality (bad VHS recorder). It's true as some reviewed, that the bad guys did not have any exceptionally profane language, but who needs that? 'Let a rotten saying not procede out of your mouth' says the scriptures. I rebel at the filth coming from movies today. I like a movie I can watch with my grandchildren and not worry about audible harrassment.
