This book was soooo good that it took me by surprise! It was a perfect mix of comedy, drama, action, teenage angst, and paranormal that I couldn't get enough of. Not to mention the fact that Jayde Scott always leaves you with a suspense filled cliffhanger at the end of every chapter leaving you not being able to put the book down!

To be honest I really didn't know what to expect when I picked this book up. First of all this is the 4th book in the series and I haven't read the previous books. Secondly I hadn't heard about this series or this author until I was asked to sign up for the blog tour and I am sooooo glad that I did! It was awesome in a light yet intense kind of way. Yes I know that's an oxymoron...just roll with it. *winks*

Amber is 18, she's also a vampire, and a necromancer. Not by choice though. She was happy to be your normal average human, that is, until her boyfriend Aiden's friend kills her and then her Aidens' brother turns her into a vampire...Yea not exactly the way you want to start your summer vacation huh? This book picks up as Amber is trying to stumble through her new life as a vampire necromancer. As if bloodlust isn't enough she also has these darn ghosts scarring the crap out of her, and it's not like she can turn to Aiden for help in that department because he isn't a necromancer and can't see the things that go bump in the night. He also doesn't suffer from the bloodlust anymore because of a spell.

One thing leads to another and the lies just keep piling up while Amber tries to help find Angel, a friend that was kidnapped. Will Amber be able to help find her friend or will the whole she has been digging herself into eventually swallow her up?

This was such a fun read.

This is my first book from Jayde Scott. It was the fourth book of the "Ancient Legend" series. I was surprise that you could read it even without reading the past books. I was totally absorbed in. The story is fast paced and brilliantly written.

The story is about Amber and her life as a new vampire. She lives with her 500 year old vamp boyfriend in Scotland. She was left at home, while her boyfriend goes out to hunt whatever what's out there. She has no clue on where Aiden, her boyfriend is really doing. She was hidden behind the shadows, not knowing what Aiden is up to. She keeps herself busy, so she won't worry too much for her boyfriend's safety. Amber is a necromancer, able to see ghosts. She also had no problem with blood before, she can survive without it. But what's with the sudden thirst? Where did those voices come from? You have to read this book to find out.

I was amazed on the world-building. It was haunting and dark. It was also believable. I love books about vampires. This book is not only about vamps but there are shape shifters, shadows, fallen angels and many more. It was a mix of everything, action, mystery, paranormal and romance. This book has no boring moments too.

As for the characters, even without reading the past books, I was able to connect to them. They were easy to love. Amber is my favorite character. She is funny, courageous and sweet. Her failed Nancy Drew moments made me laugh. Aiden is so romantic. His features was described in a mouth watering way, dark hair and sapphire eyes. Who wouldn't fall for him? Another character that I like is Cass. I was surprise that her father is, the "Prince of Darkness" himself. I also like her energetic personality. There are more characters from the book that I like.

One of those books that you just can't put down and then when it's over....you're waiting for the next!

The characters are beyond interesting...Vampires...Lucifer's daughter...Shadows...Where can you go wrong?

The story progresses rather well. It's really nice to see how Amber and Aidan are still having the same issues as any new couple would. Although, they have have some major stuff to work out ...the ex-ghost, blood lust and a massive war...I think they'll be awesome!

I guess my biggest surprise was towards the end..you think you've got it pegged on who did what and such, but NOPE....You're so FLIPPING WRONG!

Great read for anyone who loves the supernatural!

I wasn't sure if I was going to like this book when I first started reading. I'm not sure what I had expected & I think I may have mis-read the synopsis before I agreed to review it because it's a vampire story. I know. I don't do those. Ever. But once I got into the story, I found the writing & the characters to be very entertaining.

Amber, 18-year-old recently turned vampire & former housekeeper, is stuck in a large house in Scotland while her hunky 500-year-old vampire soulmate does his bounty hunting thing in other parts of the universe. She hasn't been particularly clued in to what vampires do or much of their history so she's a little out of her depth when she's alone. Enter the dangerous ex & the mysterious disappearance of a good friend, not to mention the strange, hardcore door to the basement guarding only a rusty pile of chains. Then there's the strange apparitions of blood, whispers, & a growing blood lust that shouldn't be possible for Amber. All of it makes for a pretty fast, fun read.

One of the things that always makes me wary of young human/old vampire pairings is the tendency for the author to forget the hundreds of years of experience & life that the vampire has had. They drag him down to the teenage level as far as maturity & intelligence goes. Or they don't make a good enough case for why someone who does possess a higher maturity level & intellect would be interested in a young human. Ms. Scott avoided this problem very nicely when she gave life to Amber Reed. Not only is the girl feisty, snarky, & alluring, she's also got an excellent head on her shoulders, great self-confidence, & the ability to relate to her centuries-old love on many different levels. She is believable in the role she plays & likeable at the same time.
