4.0 out of 5 stars Must Read by All Executive Protection Personnels.
Even though most of the equipment and weapon information are no longer updated. However, for a book being written over 15 years ago, it is a well worth book to read. 2.0 out of 5 stars a pleasant but nevertheless outdated 100 page booklet
A brief but pleasant to read booklet - entitled as a manual.Needs to update materials since a lot has changed as far as eletronics go since 1984( publishing year). Contents are limited to 7 chapters and many important weapon , tactical and legal issues go uncovered.

This review is from: Dead Clients Don't Pay: The Bodyguard's Manual (Paperback)
Even though most of the equipment and weapon information are no longer updated. However, for a book being written over 15 years ago, it is a well worth book to read. The author, Mr. Leroy Thompson is a well educated, and knowledgable person in VIP protection. Extensivec knowledge was given in this book for VIP protection. Some of the practices mentioned within are still being referred by experts today. It would be good if Mr. Thompson interests in writing a second updated version of this book instead of writing articles for VIP protection in various magazines. However, it is well worth to read this book and I would not hesitate to recommend this book to everyone in this business.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the BIBLE., December 1, 2010
This review is from: Dead Clients Don't Pay: The Bodyguard's Manual (Paperback)
I picked up a copy of this book at HPB in Kansas. That is in AMERICA where there are the plenty of VIP and not enough people to protect them like ol' Leroy Thompson(arguably the greatest living man). Upon opening this book you will taken into the hostile world of the bodyguard beginning with an extremely intense basic bodyguard training then transitioning into weaponry and professional assignments. After reading Leroy's work of art you are left with the ability to properly secure an area and take a high profile body through a crowd using low profile using methods that are explained in great detail throughout the book. I would recommend this work to everyone. Even people who can not read because there are some really amazing pictures of him and his mustache just looking B.A. while holding a sweetly crafted gun next to a Bentley. Thanks for you time I hope you find this review helpful.
