The "Dead On" hammer is the best I have ever purchased. The head is balanced for easy motion while hammering. The hickory handle fits my hand like a glove. I only wished a had bought several to give as gifts.

Here's the deal... I'm just a handyman around the house, but I had to do some framing on a recent project so I wanted to get a better hammer. I'm no pro carpenter by any stretch...

When I got the box from Amazon, I was confused - it was really long! Then when I opened the box I realized that maybe I'd made a mistake. This is one big hammer! But I quickly realized that the size is a good thing... the long handle does all the work for you. I felt little fatigue after using this thing for an afternoon, save for a few new blisters (next time, use gloves).

Overall, a great purchase.

I do not know "jack" about tools but this is what my brother wanted. He, his coworkers and friends freaked out about this tool. It makes nail driving seem second nature. It's balanced and just cries to have you drive nails through it. Best gift I bought on a whim.

this was my day to day hammer for a long time i bought it when it first came out to replace a 16 oz. estwing hammer payed like $15 at a home despot oddly i only bought it because it was the only cali handle in the store and it was hickory "nothing like a good piece of hickory"
but it is a great hammer mines recently been replaced by an estwing 21 oz weight forward and that`s an even better hammer.
