... calibretto has changed from their past albums adding organs and darker lyrics but really unique. When i heard they were naming their new album after evil dead 2:dead by dawn i [was excited] cause the 2 things i love the most united. anyways the cd has good christain messages and its all around good...

It's been called psycho-billy, circus-punk, crazy, and been compared to the Violent Femmes. But it's not really any of that.

Calibretto plays clean electric guitars and acoustic guitars to make their brand of scalding, highly energetic rock. The vocals sound like the Violent Femmes, somewhat. The thing that makes this album amazing is the inclusion of electric organ. They've made their sound much more deranged, psychotic, and true by making every song but one in a minor key, addressing social issues in a frank way, and contributing a whole lot of emotion to it. It's a fantastic dark punk album, and one not to be missed by even the casual punk fan.

Easily Calibretto's best to date!!! They're incredible. They tell it like it is. These guys aren't fooling around anymore, for this is their darkest and most convicting and thought provoking album yet. If you liked their previous stuff then get ready to kick it up a notch with the Dead by Dawn EP, and be sure that you'll be impressed. I strongly recommend this CD. It's definately a must have. I mean now, buy it now!!!!

From the beginning of this all-too-short EP, the guitars almost sound wacky. But soon, you realize it's all a part of their evil plan. Very goofy, dark, psycotic and playful. It's a murderous children's character run amock. If only it were just that. This one of my favorite pieces of music, seeing how it's not an album. But it is very rich and layered. Emotions range from a first person view of a mistaken identity murder victim to an apathetic to love song concerning the human race and a girl. Then goes into a song about the disgust of hypocritical people in their faith, living not as they preach or appear to live. There's a great tribute "American Psycho" by the same name, relating it to American way of life. The last song is actually my favorite. It's a song about lost love, tragedy awaits the significant other as, "strangers in the dark are waiting." Simply put, get this album. It's a definite must-have.

This EP is filled with some of the most interestingly psychotic music I've ever heard. It's scary how it can be happy and almost sadistic sounding at the same time. I hate circus' but love this CD. If there is any word for it besides 'perfect'.. it would be 'groovy'.

The only song that doesn't seem to fit is "When I think about you" because it is a little too happy. Of course, if the whole CD was in minor, it would be a little redundant. As a whole, this is one of the fews discs that can stay in my CD player for a week.. not that I actually keep it there for a week..I just mean that it's possible. It got me and my buddy to Canada and back on our road trip. Great CD! :)

This is the best punk-rock-folk cd you will ever find. Better then Relient K!

The songs are great the instrumentals are very unike. The lyrics rock. The depressingness is also awsome!
