The first part is sharing his experience as an animal doctor and an autopsy doctor and his participation in numerous research and treatment projects around the world, being written with wit and great humor. Still the most valuable is the second part, which is a practical guide in treating both: ailments and serious illnesses with scientific approach and awareness of life processes in your own body. Highly recommended to everyone who is tired of putting one's life into the hands of inexperienced and narrow-minded doctors. This book helped me dramatically in treating on my own my serious health problems fast and without damage, as well as without creating new health problems in the process of this treatment. The second part: Lets Play Doctors is available as a seperate edition and can be used as a reference book on health issues for everyday use.
The Best Book on Help Yourself to Cure!

G'day,
I was always a sceptic, laughing at people who took supplements until...
BANG! A heart attack at 45.
What Dr Joel Wallach's book has done for me is to explain, in layman's terms, the reasons for what happened in my case and the reasons for many degenerative diseases. His explanation as to why we need supplementation has also changed my attitude in this area. It is true that Dr Wallach's finding on mineral deficiency diseases challenge the paradigm of "orthodox" medicine thus its no wonder that people are sceptical.
The first part of the book, Dr Wallach's Biography, is very important as it allows us to peek into this scientist's life and see how his discovery was made. (Like many discoveries it was accidental!!). The second part of the book the functions of Minerals and the alternative approaches for dealing with degenerative diseases are worth their eight in gold!! This book is a must for anyone who values their family's HEALTH.

I never ascribed to our so called "health care system". Never trusted MD's. Sure I had to use them a couple times to set broken bones, but beyond that, I never trusted them to give me advice on health or nutrition. Then quite by accident I came across an interview with Dr. Wallach. He made so much sense I had to read this book. What we have in this country is "sickness care", not "health care". MD's treat symptoms of dieases, never curing them. Our bodies have an inate ability to heal itself if given the correct nutrition and supplements. You cut yourself, clean the wound and it heals itself. Break a bone, set the break correctly, the bone knits itself back together. Amazing healing properties we have in our bodies. I can't possibly go into all information in this book, but it is an easy read and anyone can understand the principals and concepts.

This man, this real Doctor, is an amazing principaled man. After reading his book, I wanted to become involved in real health care and nutrition and share it with everyone. If you seek truth, it's in there. If you seek to heal yourself, if you're sick and tired of being sick and tired, READ THIS BOOK.

Doctor Joel Wallach: Doctor. Doctor? Yes, Doctor. Joel Wallach is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and in his book, Dead Doctors Don't Lie, he gives sound practical dietary and health advice in a no-nonsense, straight-forward way that has personally impacted and saved my life.
If you suffer from arthritis, obesity, diabetes, hypoglycemia, or any number of modern day ailments, I urge you to just give this book a read. If you don't wish to read it or are unable to devote the time to reading due to time constraints, too many obligations, etc., try the audio version. You will be so amazed, you'll wonder why no one hasn't made this required reading in all allied health curriculums.
Who knows? You may find yourself healed as well: much to the chagrin of the beneficiaries of your health insurance payments.

I have heard Doctor Wallach's DeadDoctorsDontLie tape, DeadDoctorsDontLie radio show and loved what he had to say but always left with doubts and questions. This book answers ALL the questions. Doctor Wallach's stories are amazing! And his medical advice is so desperately needed by so many. The book is the best and least expensive second opinion you can get. I would reccomend this book to anyone. The book is primarily about vitamins and minerals and which ones will help which diseases. It is amazing to discover how many diseases are actually vitamin and mineral defiencies! After trying some advice in the book and using some of DeadDoctorsDontLie advice and products my gray hair went away! I know it seems impossible, it talks about it in the book and I didn't believe it until it happened to me. It was amazing!

This book has a vast collection of very important health information. Wallach is a guru himself somewhat, but definately incorporated others' views into his book. Such as Linus Pauling's Vitamin C bowel tolerance doses, etc. The information part of the book is great. I refer to it often to give people advice. It's a wonderful reference book. Unfortunately, 7/8 of the book is an autobiography of Wallach himself. Not a bad read, but I was a little bummed to see that much of the book was not health-related. The most solid points that Wallach drills into our heads are mineral supplementation, and paying attention to food allergies. It's amazing how quickly your health can turn around when you stop eating allergenic foods. All in all, great info. I would give 5 stars if it weren't for the long bio.

For a while now, I have committed myself to never, and I mean never, go on any prescription medication. I am very sensitive putting chemical in my body. Not only that, I'd realized that doctors were only treating the symptoms and not the cause of illness. I'm one of the fortunate ones for I have a medical counselor who I can consult with any time I have a health issue that needs addressing. She's the best and the cost is free. All of her advice on what I have to do have been bang on and the only time she advised me to go to a doctor was to get an antibiotic cream for my leg. In fact, the only time she will suggest I go see a doctor if it's an emergency (such as a serious cut, car accident etc).

Recently I met a man who was diagnosed in his early years as diabetic. At the age of 62, one leg was just amputated, the other leg is gaunt (as though the skin was vacuum sucked to his bones) and he's on his way to losing that one too. To add insult to injury, he's on 32 prescription drugs. I asked him if he's ever consider other alternative treatment besides the conventional. Unfortunately he wants to stay on his present course which will ultimately lead to losing the remainder of his limbs and eventually death.

There are times I think doctors are just stupid and evil because they just don't get it. How can you possible treat a patient when you only treat the symptoms? Somehow I believe that they realize this and that's why doctors become alcoholics and/or drug addicts. I would rather go to a veterinarian to treat my illness than a doctor anytime.

I now realize that my periodontal issues was due to a calcium deficiency. In addition, my calcium deficiency led to my high blood pressure. I was told I had high cholesterol at 210 and my doctor wanted to put me on a cholesterol medication. I refused the prescription that she gave me. Had I taken it, I believe I would have developed diabetes which happens to be one of the side affects. Per my medical adviser, I am taking something that's not a drug and my receding gums have repaired themselves.I can see the difference. My loose tooth which I almost had pulled, is on the mend. I can feel the difference and believe that within another month or two at most, I will have saved my tooth and $1800 for gum surgery which was suggested, as a preventative measure, to save myself from future tooth lost,

I absolutely love this book and I believe that anyone who is serious about their health and wants to take control of it, will find this book extremely helpful. Dr. Wallach is tops in his profession.

In my opinion as a Certified Clinical Nutritionist, who does not subscribe to the "standard of care" that "modern medicine" mandates I believe you will find the information in this book is worth one hundred times the cover price. I also firmly believe that the ONLY reason Dr. Joel Wallach did not receive the Nobel Prize for medicine in 1991, the year in which he was nominated, is unfortunately the same reason that Ron Paul is not the President of this late great Nation. I'll hazard a guess here and say if you are smart enough to seek out this book then you are smart enough to "read between the lines" of my above 2 opinions. Oh, and one more opinion; to say that the information in this book will spare you from just about every disease just by changing your nutrition intake, is an understatement.

Read the book! I'll bet these will be your opinions also.

His explanation in this book helped answer many of my questions. He has found out what kills us and what we can do to help prevent it. Great book!

Dr. Wallach stated that minerals, which we don't get enough of, are the catalyst that helps our bodies assimilate vitamins. I've ordered his Youngivity products. I've tried a lot of different vitamin supplements and I have never found a vitamin that gives me the strength and energy that his product does. The book wasn't exactly what I was expecting but it was an entertaining and fascinating read. Well worth the time.
