G'day,
I was always a sceptic, laughing at people who took supplements until...
BANG! A heart attack at 45.
What Dr Joel Wallach's book has done for me is to explain, in layman's terms, the reasons for what happened in my case and the reasons for many degenerative diseases. His explanation as to why we need supplementation has also changed my attitude in this area. It is true that Dr Wallach's finding on mineral deficiency diseases challenge the paradigm of "orthodox" medicine thus its no wonder that people are sceptical.
The first part of the book, Dr Wallach's Biography, is very important as it allows us to peek into this scientist's life and see how his discovery was made. (Like many discoveries it was accidental!!). The second part of the book the functions of Minerals and the alternative approaches for dealing with degenerative diseases are worth their eight in gold!! This book is a must for anyone who values their family's HEALTH.

The first part is sharing his experience as an animal doctor and an autopsy doctor and his participation in numerous research and treatment projects around the world, being written with wit and great humor. Still the most valuable is the second part, which is a practical guide in treating both: ailments and serious illnesses with scientific approach and awareness of life processes in your own body. Highly recommended to everyone who is tired of putting one's life into the hands of inexperienced and narrow-minded doctors. This book helped me dramatically in treating on my own my serious health problems fast and without damage, as well as without creating new health problems in the process of this treatment. The second part: Lets Play Doctors is available as a seperate edition and can be used as a reference book on health issues for everyday use.
The Best Book on Help Yourself to Cure!

I never ascribed to our so called "health care system". Never trusted MD's. Sure I had to use them a couple times to set broken bones, but beyond that, I never trusted them to give me advice on health or nutrition. Then quite by accident I came across an interview with Dr. Wallach. He made so much sense I had to read this book. What we have in this country is "sickness care", not "health care". MD's treat symptoms of dieases, never curing them. Our bodies have an inate ability to heal itself if given the correct nutrition and supplements. You cut yourself, clean the wound and it heals itself. Break a bone, set the break correctly, the bone knits itself back together. Amazing healing properties we have in our bodies. I can't possibly go into all information in this book, but it is an easy read and anyone can understand the principals and concepts.

This man, this real Doctor, is an amazing principaled man. After reading his book, I wanted to become involved in real health care and nutrition and share it with everyone. If you seek truth, it's in there. If you seek to heal yourself, if you're sick and tired of being sick and tired, READ THIS BOOK.

I have heard Doctor Wallach's DeadDoctorsDontLie tape, DeadDoctorsDontLie radio show and loved what he had to say but always left with doubts and questions. This book answers ALL the questions. Doctor Wallach's stories are amazing! And his medical advice is so desperately needed by so many. The book is the best and least expensive second opinion you can get. I would reccomend this book to anyone. The book is primarily about vitamins and minerals and which ones will help which diseases. It is amazing to discover how many diseases are actually vitamin and mineral defiencies! After trying some advice in the book and using some of DeadDoctorsDontLie advice and products my gray hair went away! I know it seems impossible, it talks about it in the book and I didn't believe it until it happened to me. It was amazing!

This book has a vast collection of very important health information. Wallach is a guru himself somewhat, but definately incorporated others' views into his book. Such as Linus Pauling's Vitamin C bowel tolerance doses, etc. The information part of the book is great. I refer to it often to give people advice. It's a wonderful reference book. Unfortunately, 7/8 of the book is an autobiography of Wallach himself. Not a bad read, but I was a little bummed to see that much of the book was not health-related. The most solid points that Wallach drills into our heads are mineral supplementation, and paying attention to food allergies. It's amazing how quickly your health can turn around when you stop eating allergenic foods. All in all, great info. I would give 5 stars if it weren't for the long bio.

Doctor Joel Wallach: Doctor. Doctor? Yes, Doctor. Joel Wallach is a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and in his book, Dead Doctors Don't Lie, he gives sound practical dietary and health advice in a no-nonsense, straight-forward way that has personally impacted and saved my life.
If you suffer from arthritis, obesity, diabetes, hypoglycemia, or any number of modern day ailments, I urge you to just give this book a read. If you don't wish to read it or are unable to devote the time to reading due to time constraints, too many obligations, etc., try the audio version. You will be so amazed, you'll wonder why no one hasn't made this required reading in all allied health curriculums.
Who knows? You may find yourself healed as well: much to the chagrin of the beneficiaries of your health insurance payments.
