Best of both worlds.,

Let me just start out by saying, in order to enjoy this album you really have to like BOTH indie music and Counting Crows. If this applies to you, please do not hesitate to buy this album. It is an INCREDIBLE tribute album. By far, the best I have heard. Boys Night Out does an extended version of "Walkaways." Their interpretation really encompasses the true meaning of the lyrics. The Rocket Summer does an awesome job with "High Life." Overall, this is a great album. I'd truly recommend it.

Better than expected tribute album,

Being a very big fan of the Crows, I ordered this cd with high hopes. I haven't really heard anyone cover the guys before so I thought it would be worth a listen. When I put it on I was surprised at how well done it was. All the bands but their own personal spin on all the songs with the two best being Punchline's version of "'Round Here" and Between the Buried and Me's version of "ColorBlind" All in all its very good and definatly worth the money.

Dead and Dreaming,
This review is from: Dead & Dreaming: Tribute to Counting Crows (Audio CD)
This CD is completely different than anything in my collection. Although these are the same artists I generally listen to, there is a whole new perspective as they cover the Crows. The bands I've seen before and already liked made some great music, especially Punchline's cover of "Round Here," and a few of the others were well worth checking out. In the end, the disc has its good parts and its great parts, but its variety makes it great for just cruising in your car or road trips.
