There are two versions of this song, one full of f-bombs and the racist N-word. The clean version, which this is, has the bad parts digitally altered so you can't understand them or they are just deleted. I guess the only way to tell is that the picture of TI doesn't have the "Explicit Lyrics" warning and the one with bad language does have it.
Also, Amazon's music download software is a bit cumbersome and won't work on all computers.

This is a song about a man who leaves his old life of fighting and hustling as a gangster. No longer fighting over meaningless things his old life is "Dead and Gone". The beat is compelling, as is the chorus by Justin Timberlake. Overall, this is a very good song.

This song rocks. I love the beat and melody. Very relaxing music and easy listening. Really like the style of the artist.

If you're looking for the clean version of this song (similar to the one you may have heard on the radio), here it is.
Advantages: clean; no f-words, no n-words, no sh-words (if you're concerned about that sort of thing; personally, I bought this version because I didn't like the n-words in the explicit version). Disadvantages: it's a little more awkward than it needs to be. There are a number of "sh--" sounds interspersed in the song and a few "blank" moments where it seems a rap word should be there but isn't (a result of deleting a curse word). The phrase "people die every day," which was in the radio version I heard, is unfortunately blanked out as "-- die every day" in this mp3 (presumably, "people" was the plural n-word in the explicit version). At the end of the day though, the quality of the song is still high enough to be worth buying for $0.99.

I give the song 5 stars, but Amazon zero stars for not being more forthcoming in the "only" choices you have to listen to the song. Either itunes or windows media player. It's a proprietary file format. I clicked on it from myspace player assuming if it's there, I can buy/play it there.
VERY upset. |
