Almost like a throwback to the pulp-style "Erie" magazines of the past, Dead Ink has four main titles, plus some bonus footage. Word of warning: There is some full nudity (No Sex) in a couple sections. Covering the four main titles in order: "Grub" was a pretty cool concept of an evil tattoo come to life. Kind of neat, but I admit that I did have to laugh when the main character, after battling the monster back out of a door, locks it. I'm sure it didn't have an opposable thumb to turn the door handle even if it knew how. Next was "Wounds". I get the concept of what was going on, but I didn't really care for it. The girl was either a nutcase, being haunted (In broad daylight)by her murdered lover, or both. Number 3, "Precarious", was like a short by Alfred Hitchcock. From beginning to end, Jim Brucke does a very good job of going from murderer to a "victim" in an ironic ending. Number 4, "Call Waiting", is a case of saving the best for last. Shut off your fire alarms & smoke detectors before watching this as the lead actress, Demona Bast, is SMOKING HOT. She portrays a student who makes cash on the side by being a sex phone operator. Being hot and funny is probably a pretty hard thing to do at the same time, but she does both well when she is fielding calls while doing her laundry, feeding her fish, etc. She starts getting calls from a derranged stalker whose fantasies are to kill her. She thinks it's just his way of getting off, so she treats the calls like a phone sex job. Tim O'Hearn was a perfect fit for the evil stalker. Both of them will be going places. Overall, the DVD is made for people who like concept stories without relying on dazzling special effects. Two of them, "Grub" and "Call Waiting", you really don't know the background of "Why?Read more ›
