Editorial Reviews

Import live archive release from the veteran British Folk/Pop band. One of England's most unusual Rock outfits of the 1970s, Amazing Blondel are a trio whose members play instruments dating from medieval to Elizabethan times, and songs styled to those periods. Blondel reformed in the late 90's to record and tour their new album Restoration. Here we have the band leading up to the Millennium with a concert from Transylvania featuring music from the band's classic albums as well as tracks from Restoration. Talking Elephant.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Live Amazing Blondel Album July 9, 2011
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
There is no indication as to where and when the concert actually took place. But that's always the case with Blondel live albums.

However, the band is at their best with both instruments and vocals. These musicians got better over the years and their talent really shines through. The concert was recorded by someone who knew what they were doing. Very excellent recording equipment was obviously used. We hear the audience berween songs but during each song we hear nothing but the band. And the music is recorded with a nice stereo image.

It's certainly the best live album from Amazing Blondel and it's even a strong contender for best Amazing Blondel album ever. It's an absolute must for every Blondel fan.

*** EDIT***
CD's can have inbedded text that gives information about the track titles and album name. Few CD's have this text. But I just noticed that this one does. According to the CD text, the album's name is "Live In Central Europe 1999". I guess they picked the current name after the CD was mastered and did not remaster it. So contrary to my earlier statement, we do have a clue as to when and where this album was recorded. Just thought you'd like to know.
