Book Description

It's called a Dead Man's Party: an assassin puts a contract out on his own head and a select group of peers have thirty days to fulfill it. For the world-renowned hitman known only as Ghost, ordering a Party is a last resort, a way to go out on his terms, at the top of his game.

The invitations are sent, the killers are coming...

And that's when things go horribly wrong.

Read issue 1 of the comic series that crime novelist Duane Swierczynski calls "super smart, sardonic and packed with surprises".

5.0 out of 5 stars One "Party" I was glad to be invited to! October 6, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
Dead Man's Party is a fantastic book. Written by Jeff Marsick and drawn by Scott Barnett, Dead Man's Party starts of with a squeal of tires and doesn't slow down a bit. Even the ending is more like slamming the breaks and doing a 180, full speed, the other way. The writing is great - no unnecessary dialogue, nothing to bog the story down; Jeff just moves it along perfectly. The character development is wonderful, and by the end of the issue, I actually care about Ghost and what will happen to him.

The art is fantastic! Scott does a beautiful job with the panels and honestly it feels like looking at movie stills as you go through the issue. The black and white absolutely complements the story, and is a great choice. I am so excited about this series and can't wait to read more!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great new book - check it out! April 18, 2012

I pretty much had a big smile on my face throughout - not only did it have wall to wall Barnett artwork (which I am a fan of) - but the story was fresh, vibrant and I was pleased to see it play out in the manner & pace that it did.
A lot of fun, very sexy in parts and funny too. I am tempted to read the 4 page issue 2 preview that just went online at the Facebook page for the comic but I reckon I shall hold out to get the actual issue. I did, however, already see and 100% approve of the front cover to issue 2.
To Scott Barnett colleague Jeff Marsick - congratulations on the book. I'm in for the full run - just getting the book to read and enjoy is a welcome treat.
It's a labour of love for sure, and I hope that it pans out financially as well - so if you read this, and you're a fan of the fresh new books on the market now - Morning Glories, Saga, Rachel Rising, much of the Millar World material, and more - then this book sits squarely and equally with those in terms of quality and it is a satisfying read.
I am going to enjoy the last few hours of my day with a little re-read of issue 1.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book! March 26, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Been awhile since I tackled a comic book, but this came highly recommended to me so I figured why not. Was not disappointed. Very cool and mature story, not really like the kid superhero stuff I used to read. I was hooked after the first few pages alone. It's a fresh story with some really nice artwork as well. Definitely worth checking out.

5.0 out of 5 stars You created a new "comic book" reader February 22, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I haven't read a comic book since Spiderman when I was 8. A friend turned me on to this graphic novel and I was skeptical. BUT, the story line and the artwork sucked me in. I read it several times and am waiting (impatiently) for Chapter 2. I also suggest that you find their Facebook page. There is a sneek peek of Chapter 2. I think that made the waiting even harder. Get to work guys!!!! Highly recommended!!!
