WHEEEEEE!!!!!!

Shaun of the Dead + 28 Days Later + Brain Dead = Dead Moon Rising

1) Acting-- for a low budget indie, it's amazing how many people can act in this movie! Usually, there's a few that stand out and everyone else is very wooden and gives forced performances, but in this one, the actors can hold their own. The characters that are portrayed here (sadly) are people that we all know; The "Bible thumper, the hot chick, the slacker. There are no over the top individuals in this movie. Just a bunch of regular everyday folks trying to stay alive.

2) Plot--The plot is very reminiscent of Shaun of the Dead and 28 Days Later with a little of Brain Dead added in for good measure. I would call this a combination of the three, with the producers' spin on it, as the cause of the zombie invasion is never explained. The synopsis above states it all.

3) Zombies--The zombies here are "Snyder" runners and are destroyed by the typical "destroy the brain" attacks. The make up for the zombies consisted mainly of face discoloration and little else. The only real thing that i didn't care for regarding the zombies was that sometimes, the zombies retreated from an attack if the survivors got the upper hand.

4) Make up and special effects--See above for the zombies make up. In regards to special effects, the blood and gore was pretty good for a low budget indie. When a zombie was getting his head bashed in by a baseball bat or taking a gun shot to the head, the blood flowed. I would think if you suffered a paper cut in this movie, you would lose 2 pints of blood! Also, there were no continuity errors that I noticed which was a nice change of pace.

5) When filming the big "stand off" on main street, everyone in town must've shown up for this scene! There LITERALLY must have been over a thousand people there! That really showed the effects of the zombie invasion on this small town.

6) This obviously was a labor of love for the producers and all involved in the proction of this movie. One is made to think that the budget of the movie was a lot more than what is was. (less than $[...]) This was a fun romp into zombie land with people that knew how to stretch a dollar and just wanted to get the movie made. The ending was left open (potential sequel?) and I hope somebody offers this guy some serious money to do another. I couldn't imagine what he could do with a real budget!

OK WERE DO I START...FIRST OF ALL I LIVE IN LOUISVILLE..DOWNTOWN TO BE EXACT..I WANTED TO SEE A GOOD ZOMBIE MOVIE AND READ SOME OF THE REVIEWS IT GOT 4 STARS AND IN FACT TWO PEOPLE GAVE IT 5 STARS PLUS IT WAS FILMED IN LOUISVILLE. SO I THOUGHT OK WHY NOT, IF IT SUCKED AT LEAST I WOULD SEE DOWNTOWN AND STUFF. OH IF IT WAS ONLY THAT SIMPLE. THIS MOVIE IS SOOOOOOO BAD I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT MOVIE THESE PEOPLE SAW BECAUSE THE ONE I SAW WAS AWFUL.. EVEN FOR A LOW BUDGET. IT STARTS OFF WITH THE MAIN CHARACTER EXPLAINING TO YOU WHAT MIGHT HAVE CAUSE THE ZOMBIE INFESTION. OK I CAN DEAL WITH THAT BUT THEN IT DROPS OFF BIG TIME... THE THREE ACTORS WORK IN A SMALL CAR RENTAL STORE THAT LOOKS LIKE, THEY PUT A DESK IN A SMALL LOBBY AT THE UNEMPLOYMENT OFFICE. OH IT GETS WORST... YOU HAVE CHARACTERS WHO GET THIS.. IS SOME HOT MENTAL RAMBO CHICK, A SCHOOL GIRL WHO LOOKS LIKE SHE IS IN HER LATE TWENTIES. A REDNECK IN A SURPLUS STORE AND OF COUSE THE CHURCH LADY AND HER SON... NOT TO LEAVE OUT THE OUT OF TOWNER AND THE POLICE LADY WHO IS AS DUMB AS ROCKS...IF I LEFT ANYONE OUT SORRY. BUT YOUR ACTING SUCKED ANYWAY SO NO BIG DEAL...OK NOW FOR THE ZOMBIES FOR A LOW BUDGET FILM THE MAKE-UP IS AWFUL NOT BAD BUT AWFUL. THEY LOOK YELLOWISH GREEN AND NOT SCARY AT ALL. IF FACT ONE OF THEN EVEN HAD FANGS LIKE A VAMPIRE. WHICH OF COUSE I SAID TO MYSELF...WTF.. IN ONE PART OF THE MOVIE THE ACTORS ARE RUNNING DOWNTOWN TO THE WATERFRONT PARK WITH THE ZOMBIE CHASING THEM, AND THEY RUN ACROSS THIS WALK WAY AND THE ZOMBIES STOP COLD. WHY BECAUSE THEY ARE AFRAID OF THE WATER PUDDLE.. THAT'S NOT ALL LET'S TALK ABOUT THE GUNS IN THIS MOVIE...YEAH!!! WELL IN THIS ONE SCENE THE TWO ACTORS ARE WALKING AND SEE THIS JEEP ON THE SIDE WITH THE WINDOW OPEN, AND BY THIS TIME THE ZOMBIES ARE ATTACKING EVERYBODY SO THEY NEED WEAPONS RIGHT. WELL THEY WALKED OVER AND PULLED OUT A SHOTGUN AND HANDGUN OUT OF THE JEEP BECAUSE IN LOUISVILLE THAT'S WHAT EVERYBODY DOES..I JUST SLAP MY HANDS TO MY FACE AND JUST SHAKED MY HEAD. I DID DRIFT OFF WHILE I WAS WATCHING THIS JUNK. SAYING TO MYSELF WHY DID I BUY THIS WHY...OH YEAH BECAUSE SOMEBODY GAVE IT 4 STARS AND 5 STARS. THE SHOOTING OF THE GUNS IS SO FAKE THAT THEY POINT SHOOT AND THAT FAKE GUN SOUND AND FLASH GO OFF. IT'S REALLY BAD. THEY DIDN'T SHOW MUCH OF DOWNTOWN EXPECT LOADING DOCKS AND BACK ALLY AND WHERE PIMPS AND HOOKERS HANG OUT.AND INSIDE TWO WAREHOUSES. SADLY I DIDN'T MAKE IT TO THE END. I MADE IT UP TO THE PART WHEN THE ZOMBIES WERE GOING TO FIGHT THE BIKERS ON JEFFERSON ST DOWNTOWN, BUT I WAS DONE. I TOOK THE MOVIE OUT OF MY PLAYER PUT IT NEATLY IN THE BOX AND THREW IT OUT IN THE TRASH. THIS MOVIE IS BOOTLEG!!! NOT BAD, BOOTLEG. I WOULD RATHER WATCH THE NOTEBOOK 15 TIMES IN A ROW OR GET A ROOT CANAL WATCHING THE NOTEBOOK. THEN WATCH THIS CRAP FOR A SECOND TIME. SO IN REVIEW PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY. DON'T BUY OR RENT OR YOU WOULD BE SAD LIKE ME. WHAT A WASTE.. :( THAT'S ME SAD.

I have already watched this movie over 10 times and it never loses it's appeal. If you are a fan of zombie films I suggest you go out and rent/bye this one.
