What's a generic shooter? How is the weapon creation in this game, or the dismemberment generic (I assume you mean cod, which this is nothing like)? It still has the creepy feel in parts, and they added a ton of new guns, environments, enemies, and even a coop mode. How is this, "bad"?
And seriously? You think that sounds like an employee talking? This is what you call a fan. I Just played the demo, and sure there are more action shooter elements, but I kinda liked being able to roll out of the way of an incoming attack like i always wished i could have in dead space 2.
And why do you think the first and second Dead Space were scary? You had a scare amount of ammo and you couldn't use any escape maneuvers to get out of a tight situation. There were parts where I had to face 4-5 necromorphs with own fists because I had no ammo for none of my guns, and that happened A LOT in DS2, especially back on board of the Ishimura. Plus adding new content doesn't automatically make a game good. Look at Call of Duty, after 5 new installments of "new content" the game still sucks. Dead Space is going down Resident Evils route, and everyone who thinks otherwise is in extreme denial. Dead Space 4 is probably going to have you play as Ellie, the new guy and Isaac as they all get separated and then get together and fight the big bad monster.
Well i never had times where i had scarce ammo in one and two (except for certain times in hardcore mode). But Mostly i was talking about the FIRST time you play it, the music, the jump scares.. that stuff. I don't think that adding combat rolls takes away from the original feel. The survival, and the combat feels the same.
And using call of duty as a comparison is insane! Dead space is only on its third game! When a game company doesn't add new content (like cod) we complain. When it does change up the feel (dead space 3) we complain. what do you guys want?! seriously..
but i do agree with you resident evil has never been the same sense 4.. ;(
And what is wrong with buying a game that i enjoy? That's the same reason why i'm not mad at cod. The reason why they do so well is because they DO have a fan base. So they are obviously doing SOMETHING right. There are so many good game series coming out, there is no point to even complain.
Really? There were many times when I had no ammo. Maybe because I never bought it. One of my best memories from the second one, that dang Sun. Scared the crap out of me. But anyways back to our topic. I used CoD to show that adding a little bit of content doesn't make a game good. Especially changing the entire formula of the game (RE). To me though, putting an escape maneuver does change the game. Random necromorph pops out of no where! Oh man, you can just roll away...
Dismemberment is not gone, you obviously didn't play the demo. You people act like being able to dodge and completely changes the game, but you know what? No one is forcing you to use the new controls, you could completely ignore them and play like you did in DS2. I know that because that's exactly what I did the first time I played the demo. Did you seriously just compare Dead Space to CoD? Wow. I even looked up a video of what you're talking about and how are they similar? They both wake up after a crash, and that's the only similarity. I guess CoD was the first to ever have somebody wake up after a crash. -_-
I see a tiny bit of where you are coming from. But in this game, i found my self being swarmed a lot more (like during the drill fight) so rolling was only somewhat effective. Also a lot of the enemies are faster, and attack faster, making it harder to dodge them as well.
I feel like if cod actually added new content, instead of just adding, more guns and more maps, it would be just as awesome as dead space. But cod has yet to even add New features into the game.
I was just pointing out to those who are complaining about the new controls that they can easily ignore them. Nobody is forcing you to "just roll away" from a necromorph, as Landon put it. You can't really accidentally roll as it requires a quick double-tap of LB.
