This review is from: Dead Puzzling (Paperback)
Dead Puzzling is very entertaining and funny; my kids were enthralled. However, as it turns out, that was not the best benefit this little book. I work with a group of children in an after-school program and we recently had the addition of two autistic siblings. They were having some difficulty fitting in with the group because the rest of the children didn't know what to make of them. It was just by pure luck that I bought Dead Puzzling for story time and I am so glad that I did. One of the main characters is autistic and through Oliver my kids learned that autism is not scary but that children and people with autism can be loving and joyful friends. The result has been tremendous: the siblings are now the stars of the group and everyone is having a wonderful time being little detectives.
Dead Puzzling is an easy recommendation for any child. |
