Sensitive and thoughtful life review,

This review is from: Dead Reckoning: A Therapist Confronts His Own Grief (Hardcover)
As a therapist myself, I very much appreciated the difficult task Dr. Treadway embarked upon...that of getting to know his family of origin. It is interesting to see him pass through many steps before he is able to work through his defense mechanisms and uncover the wounds of his childhood which vitally impact his life in the here & now. The author is brutually honest in his self-assessment and shows the reader his most vulernable self. Helpful and interesting reading for all of us willing to travel the most difficult of all roads...the family system.

This review is from: Dead Reckoning: A Therapist Confronts His Own Grief (Hardcover)
I studied with David Treadway for 3 years. I thinks he writes an in depth review of how the past haunts him, and how he knew he had to deal with the past in order to go forward. He knew:"therapist heal thyself."
Having watched him and talked to him for 3 years, I knew many of the issues that haunted him.He did an excellent job writing about his psychological pain. I wonder if a therapist who has not had to confront these issues, could understand the psychological pain. I also used to sit and wonder hom much of some of the similarities of my issues he understood. |
