4.0 out of 5 stars Dead Romeo
While it is difficult to create anything "new" in the super saturated genre that is Vampire Lore, Dead Romeo does an interesting job of portraying both the cliche "repentant" and "unrepentant" vampires. A subtle surprise at the end leaves it open for the appearance of a sequal, without the sacrificing of this volumes credibility.

3.0 out of 5 stars It Wasn't the Worst of Vampire Stories, But I Expected A Lot More Out of It!
I was hoping this would be a better vampire story than it was. It scores some points for originality, but really wasn't a compelling read and left you wondering about some plot points that should have been explained better. On top of that, I felt like the ending came out of nowhere. There are much better vampire stories out there.

I know that graphic stories need to be boiled down to a minimum, but the storyline in Dead Romeo was missing a few key elements and thus was less enjoyable than it could have been. The artwork was good, although I always prefer it when the characters actually resemble themselves when seen from different angles or with different expressions; but the story failed to explain or give a hint as to a key element of the plot, e.g. who specifically were the bad guys supposed to find. But we find out at the very end, and, lacking a hint as to that important detail, I felt like the writer had deliberately misled me the reader with the lack of information.

I enjoyed it well enough, but there wasn't enough there to make the thing worth the price I paid for it. So...meh.
