5.0 out of 5 stars Best Album of 2012 thus far! April 10, 2012
Format:MP3 Music
I bought this album two weeks ago when Dead Sara performed at the Vans Warped Tour Kickoff Party. It's been on repeat in my car ever since. Before the show I had heard "Weatherman" and was excited to see what they had to offer. I was blown away. The first two songs had my jaw dropping at the bands tight sound and vocalist Emily Armstrong's spectacular voice. Emily, Siouxsie, Chris and Sean were all an absolute pleasure to watch. This is a band with pure honest talent. I think they're destined for great things and I wish all the world for them.

Now for the album:

1) Whispers and Ashes - Eases you into the bands style and sound.

2) We Are What You Say - Starts picking up the tempo.

3) Weatherman - The first song where we really start to hear the range of Emily's amazing voice. She trasitions from a soft songstress to a strong powerhouse with seemingly no effort what so ever. The band starts to show their abilities as well.

4) Dear Love - The first ballad of the album. It's a lovely song, though not really a favorite.

5) Monumental Holiday - One of my favorite songs on the album. Being musically in your face, it's very reminiscent of early Hole and Wolfmother. It's a wonderful surprise in the middle of the album.

6) I Said You Were Lucky - This song is really fun to rock out to in the car.

7) Face to Face - Another ballad type and also one of my favorite songs, both musically and lyrically. The music starts off soft but comes crashing down loud and intense, and the lyrics are simply beautiful. This song, for me, is the most emotional of the album.

8) Test On My Patience - This has been my absolute favorite song on the album from day one. I think it's more from seeing it performed live than anything. I'm pretty sure this is when I fell in love with Dead Sara.

9) Timed Blues - This song reminds me so much of Jane's Addiction that I keep expecting to hear Perry Farrell's wails in the background. And that's not a bad thing at all.

10) Lemon Scent - A vocally powerful song that will get stuck in your head.

11) Sorry For It All - Another ballad to finish off the album. All I can say about this song is "EMILY'S VOCALS!!!!".

If you like true blue Rock and Roll, this album is definitely for you!

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible music and performers!!! April 23, 2012
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
I was lucky to see "Dead Sara" in concert a few days ago, and I was amazed by their emotion and passion on stage. The album is great! The female vocalist is unreal. She sings roughly or screams in many of the songs on the album, but she also has a beautiful voice in the moments when she sings softer. High energy songs like "Monumental Holiday" and "Weatherman" really define the style of this band. Then, there is the beautiful conclusion to the album with "Sorry For It All". I would highly recommend buying this album and supporting the band.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bitchin April 11, 2012

I'm loving this album. I have always been a huge fan of good female vocals and Dead Sara didn't disappoint. The lead singer has a great voice for screaming. The album has some great rock songs that sound kind of garage band or grungy at times.
