Book Description

March 15, 2010
Editors Michelle McCrary and Joe McKinney have brought together twenty original tales of the end of our world from horror's brightest talents. Within these pages you'll find a madman longing for the good old days of Hometown America, a company that deals in the dead, a radio DJ who holds the living together with her voice, and a soldier haunted by the living and the dead alike. This is the end of the world as you've never seen it before. Featuring stories from Lisa Mannetti, Lee Thomas, Bev Vincent, Harry Shannon, David Dunwoody, Nate Southard, Boyd E. Harris, and a host of others, Dead Set will take you on a guided tour through the ruins. The zombie story has finally come of age.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Nice Collection May 8, 2011
By Paul V.
Format:Paperback
There are some fine writers in this book and there are some good stories too. My favorite might be Jailbreak from Steven Booth, or maybe the Zombie Whisperer by Steve Wedel. I think the editors did a fine job pulling together some excellent talent. Well done!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dead Set. A great collection August 22, 2010
Format:Paperback
Like the other reviews I really enjoyed how these stories complimented each other and followed a beginning to end process. Im a big Joe McKinney fan and I was excited to receive this book. It didnt disappoint. Normally Im not as much a fan of multiple stories as I am of a single story. I liked this book allot. Like was said earlier, if you're into zombie short stories then check this anthology out. And if you're not a fan of short stories then check this book out anyway because it flows like a novel as well. You just can't go wrong picking this one up.

4.0 out of 5 stars First attemp at an anthology January 4, 2011
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I wanted to read a zombie genre anthology for the first time. I like both of the editors works so why not start with this one? I was very happy with the results. Of coarse I did not like all of the stories, but none the less they were all very well written. It seems almost every author put a clever twist into their story. For them to be able to convey a story so quickly and actually have depth and strong characters in them was simply amazing. Well worth the read if you are into the zombie genre.
