Great, moody stuff,

Dead Space, my personal favorite game of 2008, is an experience. I've never played a game that kept me in such a prolonged state of tension and fear nor did I ever think it possible to feel that terrified and not suffer a heart attack. It's the kind of game best played at night, in the dark, with the sound turned way up. The game gets the strongest kudos from me and I can only recommend this to anyone looking for a great game with some great scares.
The main reason the game works so well is because of the sound design. The game is scary as hell just with the surround sound alone. The music for the game is very well done and Jason Graves gets a big thumbs up for creating a score that borrows liberally from other horror scores yet stands on its own two feet as being an original and effective accomplishment. It's very moody and atmospheric but becomes a web of chaos at certain points, with striking chords of dissonance and the sounds of clanking machinery. I guess I could sum this work up as being both orchestral and industrial to some degree. If you've played the game and you remember liking the music you heard in it or you just like creepy music in general, I would highly recommend this purchase.

Odd, intense, and sonically gutwrenching. this soundtrack easily sounds like the "what if" situation.. "what if Danny Elfman and Marilyn Manson did a score together?"
"Dead Space" would be that end result. I gotta hand it to Jason Graves. he really helped the game become the scary screw-this-i-need-a-break kind of game it is.

I just got my Dead Space mid 2009 and I haven't experience such tension and fear to the unknown with any other until Dead Space. I love the game and this soundtrack from Jason Graves puts you in the game mood all over again. You feel the tension, excitement and trepidation as you walk the Ishimura as for the first time.
For me. no other game has come to other media format as sucessfully as Dead Space has done it with a comic book series, animated film, soundtrack and even action figures line. Very well done Jason Graves and EA I highly recommend this sountrack for the lovers of horror/suspense genre even if you are not a gamer.
