Forget everything you knew about The Devil Wears Prada.That's because the technically proficient, guitar-driven American metal outfit you'll hear on Dead Throne is a much different monster than the one you'd contended with on 2009's With Roots Above and Branches Below and 2010's Zombie EP. Dead Throne signals a more evolved, more progressive The Devil Wears Prada and contains more than a dozen cutting-edge, razor-sharp, straight-ahead heavy metal tracks that are utterly brilliant not only in their composition, but also in their flawless delivery.

Devil Wears Prada wasn't a band that really interested me until the Zombie EP. That was one of the most brutal, intense releases from any band in 2011 and thankfully Dead Throne is very much in the same vein. When stretched out to a full album the sound can get a little bit samey but for the most part it's as crazy and adrenaline pumping as the EP. If you'd written the band off before give them another chance.

iv'e been listening to the devil wears prada since the beginning and so far they just keep getting better. i cant wait to hear the next album. i definately recommend you buy this album.

TDWP have come a long way since their first full length patterns of the horizon back all those years ago, We thought that they hit their stride on the zombie ep and how wrong we were. This is one of the most powerful, emotional and complete albums of the year, with subtle changes that just add to the sound of the greatness of the dead throne. The changes I talked about is mostly mikes vocals which in all honesty, I didnt care for AT FIRST but after the second listen I grew to love it. Just quit reading this and buy it, dont waste anymore time just go and support this band now cause this is one of the best albums of the year.

(to me) A step down from Plagues
I loved Plagues and was exited to hear this album, but was disappointed. My main gripe is the dirty vocals don't sound anywhere close to Plagues. Read more
