More About the Author

Adam Millard is the author of twenty novels, ten novellas, and more than a hundred short stories, which can be found in various collections and anthologies. Probably best known for his post-apocalyptic fiction, Adam also writes fantasy/horror for children. He created the character Peter Crombie, Teenage Zombie just so he had something decent to read to his son at bedtime. Adam also writes Bizarro fiction for several publishers, who enjoy his tales of flesh-eating clown-beetles and rabies-infected derrieres so much that they keep printing them. His "Dead" series has recently been the filling in a Stephen King/Bram Stoker sandwich on Amazon's bestsellers chart. When he's not writing about the nightmarish creatures battling for supremacy in his head, Adam writes for This Is Horror, whose columnists include BC Furtney, Simon Bestwick and Simon Marshall-Jones.

This was a very fun story! Not fast moving but a very well managed pace. The story line is an interesting take on zombie mythology and is a great journey.

Worth every penny!
Enjoy it!!!

Avid horror fan turned rabid horror writer. Millard proves there is life in the Zombie Novel. He takes the all the horror and gore and downright fun of a good Zombie story and sets it in the Old West. Jonestown is your typical old western town complete with the gunslingers, sheriff, prostitutes and the lone stranger who rides into town. All the archetypes of the western are present in this novel along with one difference. Zombies. The town seems to be overrun with the brain craving, flesh gobbling creatures. Dead West makes for a fast paced and exciting cross genre read with just the right amount of gore. I would highly recommend this book, his next in the DEAD series is DEAD CELL, and for a really awesome story of his pick up WAKE UP DEAD. Millard wont disappoint!!!

this book was ok....i enjoyed it. editing was good. it went into a little too much detail at times. i have never been a big western type fan, but this type of western i would be. one thing that bothered me was the use of tupperware, this book took place in the 1800s and tupperware wasnt invented until some time in the 1900s, thats a small detail. this book wasnt as good as his other two, but i would recommend it to my friends. its a different take on zombies because they didnt have tanks to drive over the z's or machine guns to mow them down with. they had to use old school techniques, six shooters and such. pretty cool all in all.

Good concept, but it just went on and on and on. I would not purchase book 2 if there is one.

It has it's good points but lacks in consistency. In one instance, a zombies eyes were knocked out of it's head. In the next paragraph the zombies eyes rolled upwards. Either a remarkable feat of regeneration or...? There were several others of the same caliber. I went on to read three more of Mr. Millards novels (Dead series) because I had bought the four books at one time and there were other things that were strange in the last three that kept me from getting too connected with those books, also. A simple proofreading would have prevented a lot of errors.

Typical zombie type of offering, but the storyline was a bit different and the read was very good. It was hard to put down, until finished.
