Deadlocked is the latest in Thea Gregory's series of Zombie Bedtime Stories, collection of short horror stories. I believe this is also the first sequel of sorts in the series (although I could be wrong). Deadlocked follows the events from Locked In. However, don't worry. Both serve as stand alone stories and can be enjoyed separately. Interestingly enough, this book somehow manages to be both bleaker and more uplifting than it's predecessor.

As with the rest of the series, Gregory, continues to give us glimpses into a world rapidly descending into Hell. If there is a God in Ms. Gregory's universe, then he has turned a blind eye on his creations. However, that being said, what else would you want from a horror series? Things always get worse before they get better and that's a good deal of the fun right there.

I thoroughly enjoyed this installment of the Zombie Bedtime Stories and I eagerly await the next chapter. The only downside: being that this is a short story, it's over quickly...leaving one practically screaming at their kindle, "What happens next!?"

So far this is the best in the series. That's saying a lot. First two books were fantastic. This one revisits Frank from the first book. I had wondered how things progressed for him so I'm thrilled Ms.Gregory revisted his story. This is absolutley intense and just grabs you and won't let go. I have a hard time sitting for stretchs and getting through things in one go. I couldn't put this down after I started. Just totally engrossing. If you love zombies and great horror writing you're crazy if you don't read ths. Perfection.

Deadlocked is the third in Thea Gregory's "Zombie Bedtime Stories" in which we meet again one character of one of the previous installments.
While it is a good thing to read a little more about that character, we quickly understand that is bad luck for him to find himself to be the central character of the story.

This issue seems to be a little longer than the previous ones so we have more time to learn about the character's psychology and even him seems to discover himself. Moreover we can see how the other characters mindsets evolve in this extreme situation thus providing a sense of something desperate and oppressive.

Once more, I can't wait reading the next story !
