The second collaborative effort between the Private Eye Writers of America and Sisters in Crime has resulted in an entertaining anthology, featuring pairs of stories which share a common theme. Twenty-two stories, written by twenty-two well-known mystery authors, treat the listener to a variety of detectives and their crimes. Although a single narrator presents each story, the different actors give the listening experience variety and provide transitions to new stories. All the readers do quite well, with some performances more fully characterized than others. The collection should appeal to mystery fans, as well as those who prefer short fiction. M.A.M.
