Book Description

The first two Danielle Ross mysteries, Guilt by Association and The Final Curtain have enjoyed wide recognition. Deadly Deception finds the private investigator faced with one of the greatest tests of her career when she agrees to take on the case of a vengeful, terminally ill crime boss.

Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

YA-- Danielle Ross is thrust into running her father's detective agency after he has a heart attack. Because business is faltering, she accepts an offer from the Lanzas, one of New Orleans's organized-crime families, to serve as a tutor/bodyguard for their three children. She endears herself to the family not only because she can work well with the children but, more importantly, because she saves them from an attack by a rival family. Morris weaves an intriguing story. Unusual in this mystery, though, is the Christian slant; it isn't intrusive, but it does come into play periodically, and not always consistently, throughout the novel.

This review is from: Deadly Deception (Danielle Ross Mystery Series #3) (Paperback)
Deadly Deception is one of several Danielle Ross Mystery novels. Dani Ross, detective, and her partner against crime, Ben Savage, are once again thick in the midst of deceit and murder. Danni has accepted an undercover assignment for a patriarch of an organized crime syndicate to investigate the murders of his son and daughter-in-law who were murdered in the family's mansion. Dani and Ben hire on as tutors for the patriarch's grandchildren as a cover to their investigation. When Dani and Ben face threats against their own lives and have to physically intervene to save the lives of the four grandchildren, Dani wonders if she has taken on too much this time. Her compassion for the four grandchildren convinces her to solve their investigation before another life is snuffed out. Will Danni and Ben solve the mystery in time to save their own lives? How will their investigation effect their on-again off-again love relationship? Another mystery that is guaranteed to keep you on the edge of your seat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Book, January 18, 2008
This review is from: Deadly Deception (Danielle Ross Mystery Series #3) (Paperback)
I am in the process of reading these Dani Ross mysteries, and I have really been enjoying them. I wasn't sure if I would like them, but I have been hooked since the first. Each one has had a different type of plot and mystery, so it doesn't get boring.
I thought the book was great, as were the rest I have read so far (up to number 4). I recommend this series to pretty much anyone.
