Format: Paperback
Based on an episode from the first season of the Iron Man: Armored Adventures animated series, Deadly Dreadknights finds Tony Stark and his friends on a quest for one of the powerful Makluan rings. Iron Man's arch enemy the Mandarin is also after the ring, which is protected by fierce armored guardians called the Dreadknights. Tony and company have to figure out how to defeat their foes, and find that it's not always weapons that win a battle.

Deadly Dreadknights is an easy to follow, easy to read story. It's written at the first/second grade level, with a good mix of simple and complex words and a fair number of words per page, but balanced by some fantastic illustrations of both Iron Man and the Mandarin (who looks so much cooler in this series than he ever did in the comics).

Deadly Dreadknights is a great addition to the Iron Man: Armored Adventures "Pictureback" series, and one that my son very much enjoyed. It's a great book for beginning readers who love a good superhero story.
