More About the Author

Geoffrey M. Gluckman writes features for print publications in the United States, Canada, and Australia, such as Iron Horse Magazine, Law Enforcement Technology, Credit Union Business, and Mini Rider.

Deadly Exchange (June 2007), his debut spy thriller, won Honorable Mention in Fiction at the 2009 Los Angeles Book Festival. He drew from his training as a federal agent and recruitment by the CIA, as well as experience as an exercise physiologist and international lecturer.

In February 2009, he presented at Foothill College in the Bay Area, California as part of the Author Lecture Series.

For summer 2008, he toured the West Coast giving talks and signings at various Borders bookstores and others from British Columbia to California. He also did several online interviews and was a featured guest on River Jordan's Radio Talk show.

In January 2008, he was a featured author at the Pulpwood Queens Book Club Annual Gala event in Texas. In November 2007, he spoke at the Maryland Writers Association Baltimore Chapter meeting and presented to the Four Seasons Book Club

His poetry and fiction, Unicorn Pain II, Broken Horns, have been featured in several anthologies, Teen Angst (St. Martin's Press, April 2005), A Far Off Place (1995). Three years prior, an essay entitled, Ultimately, appeared in Expectations.

As the creator of the Muscle Balance and Function Development(R) System, Geoff has provided seminars, workshops, and individual consultations for health care providers internationally.

He authored the internationally acclaimed Muscle Balance and Function Development(R) CDROM (1997) and related manuals, as well as several articles for journals.

He is credited with starting the postural and functional exercise revolution now in force in North America. This stemmed from a ground-breaking postural fitness article in Shape Magazine (November 1994) that featured him, including a specially designed MBF(R) functional exercise program for women.

In 2000, he appeared on the Body by Jake Healthy Lifestyles television show as the featured functional fitness and biomechanics expert. Over the years, he has presented at international conferences for organizations, such as 3rd Interdiscplinary World Congress, NSCA, and IDEA. He also served as a guest staff member of The Nicklaus/Flick Golf School and the Assistant Director of T.H.E. Clinic in Del Mar, California, home of The Egoscue Method. He holds a Master's Degree in Exercise Science and a Health/Fitness Instructor Certification by the American College of Sports Medicine.

Since 1993, as the creator and promoter of the Muscle Balance and Function Development(R) (MBF(R)) education system, he has been a primary presenter at several international conferences in North America and Europe (1994-2002), from which a following developed across several continents, and still continues today.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Read, September 13, 2010
This review is from: Deadly Exchange (Paperback)
This is the kind of popular novel I really enjoy. I love the way it can be read on so many different levels. A teenager can enjoy it as a straight forward action adventure book with a martial arts trained hero. Older readers can take pleasure in all the clever metaphors woven into the story. As the story progresses it makes lots of sharp observations on the corporate world, technology, power without accountability and the struggle to be true to you own nature in the modern world. The book is especially strong when observing the different way men and women speak and drawing some humorous moments from it. In conclusion a very accessible book that should appeal to a wide audience.

4.0 out of 5 stars it's Like Reading an Episode of 24..., July 30, 2009
This review is from: Deadly Exchange (Paperback)
Reading this book was like reading a season of 24, except that these events took place across more time than just one day. I have to admit that it was a little difficult to get settled into this book--because it is written from multiple points of view and shifts settings as events unfold, it can be a little difficult to follow at times. However, once I got comfortable it was a fascinating, riveting read... Gluckman's knowledge of the government, its agencies, and military technology is impressive! Not to mention, his plot twists keep you on the edge of your seat!

I don't know about all of you, but for me well-developed characters are extremely important in creating an enjoyable book. Gluckman succeeded many times over with his character development in Deadly Exchange. Frank and Jennifer are very believable, but I can't say much without giving away an important part of the story. And as for the "bad guys," Walter Jones in particular--you love to hate them! The addition of the various Rastafarian boys added another element of interest to the "cast."

If you enjoy political thrillers or the TV show 24, I think you would enjoy this book. Even though it started slow for me, the subject matter was so fascinating I couldn't help but enjoy Deadly Exchange.

A New Age Robert Ludlum style saga. A very enjoyable read. If Mr. Gluckman writes another one I'll read it.
