Format: Hardcover
This book captures the brutal reality of wildlife in a particularly captivating way. It's more than just the beautiful photography one would expect from National Geographic (though that's nothing to sniff at). But the choice of photos is fresh and unexpected- as is the overall design of the book. It feels very contemporary- especially given the top-notch and engaging writing. I love the fun, almost retro type design, the way it is all laid out, and how the horizontal hardcover reads so... cinematic! This isn't your parent's National Geographic book. Both my wife and my nephews were glued to it. It's a beauty- I'd like to see more National Geographic books in this style.

If you are an animal truist...this is your book. But, beware. It holds nothing back. Read it with caution and if there are kids over...take it off the coffee table.
