Book Description

October 30, 2008
Megan Chiles is tormented by dreams; dreams that take her down dark corridors where no living thing should ever go…passageways, where an evil beyond all imagination watches her, and waits… After the bizarre death of her brother sixteen years ago in the small southern town she called home, her life was forever changed. The nightmares that plague her and a unique ability to see future events through macabre visions threaten to drive her insane. Defeated, and on the verge of relinquishing all hope, Megan is offered the chance to uncover her true destiny. Just as the most dangerous force the world has ever known is unleashed, she discovers that she alone must face unthinkable evil as humanity's only hope of survival. Megan's journey is a long one…and more difficult than anyone could ever fathom. Follow her on this strange new road to discovery where murder, destruction, torment, and love lead to a rebirth like no other, the dawn of a new world, and finally…a way back home.

Review

Deadly Inuition indeed!

"Several years after the death of her brother, Megan begins to experience graphic and disturbing nightmares. A Dark Presence, yet unknown to Megan, is already at work putting into motion the events responsible for the onset of her dreams. As Megan matures into adulthood, her dreams transform into visions; each one that passes becomes more grizzly, and unfortunately for her, more personal in nature. She is shown deaths, murders and other unspeakable acts and is helpless to intervene.

A series of bizarre events begins to unfold, as we see the emergence of additional characters that will play a pivotal role in her life. Some are being controlled. Others are being influenced. All are being watched. Megan is on a collision course with destiny and the wheels are in motion.

The Dark Presence is no longer content watching from the sidelines. Megan has become a serious threat to its plans, and the time for removing that threat has arrived. Megan senses his presence. Her intuition is usually reliable; but, if she misreads it now, it may prove deadly.

E. A. Mourn's novel, Deadly Intuition, is a spine-tingling journey that should appease any Suspense/Fantasy/Horror fan's appetite for the macabre." --Frank Wood, (Huntersville, NC, USA)

Kirkus Discoveries, December 5, 2008

“A brilliant young woman comes to understand her complex history in this contemporary science-fiction fantasy ...Since Megan’s beloved older brother Leo was brutally murdered when she was 12, she’s had the unpleasant feeling of being watched, while possessing the equally unpleasant psychic ability to foresee grisly murders. With advanced degrees in science, she does media work at home for a scientific institute to avoid human interaction. Then she suffers mysterious multiple hemorrhages in her apartment one night and is taken to the hospital by her handsome neighbor Jack, a psychologist. The attraction between the two is immediate... They may be soul mates, but Megan cannot convince Jack that her visions of events in another place and time, the Valley of Moonaigh, are real. Meanwhile one of Jack’s other patients murders his abusive father, the town’s mayor, also inadvertently killing a police officer friend of Jack’s. This criminally insane murderer, James, is under the sway of someone he calls “the master”—revealed to be Ivars, born with superhuman powers in dawn-of-civilization Egypt... Meanwhile, Megan begins to remember her past, and soon the proverbial forces of good and evil meet for a showdown. It’s an intriguing plot...Imaginative and action-packed...”

More About the Author

Many of you, who have read my novel, Deadly Intuition, have asked if I had a traumatic childhood. Sure the name sounds depressing, but hey, what do you expect? It's horror (at least some of it is, it is also fantasy/sci-fi, and contains elements of paranormal suspense). I think that "traumatic childhood" question is the most frequently asked question of Horror writers. In my case, the answer is an emphatic NO. The ability to write this type of fiction is something that is hard wired...a talent you are born with. Many will disagree with me on that...but that is just my take on it. Given that, I do not believe in, nor have I participated in any creative writing classes, or anything of that nature.

I do have a non-fiction side as well. Since I am a cross-genre author, I write my non-fiction under the pseudonym B. Erin Wylde, and children's books under the name, Busy Lizzy. I also write poetry, but some helium members might not agree to call it that. I have never tried to be a poet, it just comes out without any warning.

Oddly enough, one of my biggest accomplishments came from my non fiction side. I wrote a book on motherhood titled Where Did I Go?, written under the pseudonym, B. Erin Wylde. This book made a big impact on a lot of moms that I heard from via email and then not long after it was published, it was nominated out of many others to attend the BEA, (Book Expo America) in May of 2008 in Los Angeles.

I was able to meet many famous authors and celebrities, have a conversation with Dean Koontz, a favorite of mine, and sign my books next to Ernest Borgnine, Muriel Hemmingway, James Patterson, and many others. It was an honor just to be nominated to be there, especially since only inudstry professionals are allowed to attend. Also as a Star Trek Fan, it was amazing to meet William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy's son, who I spoke with for a while about his memoir on growing up.

About the rest of my life (my credentials and my day job)my background is in Chemistry and Medical Technology and currently; I work in pharmaceuticals.

I have worked as a scientist for many years now, but I have never felt that my heart was in that type of work, it is in my writing.

I was Born and raised in the south and had little exposure to the rest of the world during my younger years. I longed to move away most of my life, and did just that after college. I live in Florida now, and oddly enough, have settled down in one of the smaller towns here. I can't imagine a better place to live and write, and would never want to leave this part of the world that is such a paradise.

I enjoy the works of Stephen King, Pat Conroy, Dean Koontz and John Sanford, to name a few. My writing is most often dark; but there is not much I can do about that, even if I wanted to. I am convinced this stuff comes to me through bizarre transmissions that are out of my control. Especially the poetry...which always comes from out of nowhere when I least expect it!

In addition to writing, I love to sing, and adore my husband and our two kiddos. I am ambitous, but laid back, and completely normal (in a sense) and would love to hear from anyone who wants to give me feedback....good or bad. Send me a line sometime!
