Book Description

A killer is loose who has a taste for human blood. Cole presses harder into the investigation, but the body count climbs. He has personal reasons for detesting the press, so sparks fly when Laurie hounds him for a story. Fate forces them to join forces, neither one anticipating the attraction that ensues. But just as Cole thinks he is close to finding all the answers, both personal and professional, Laurie disappears.

Review: Deadly Obsession is a taut, gripping, fast-paced story of murder and madness. The tension mounts page after page, until the chilling and terrifying conclusion. The plot flows seamlessly and leaves the reader guessing as to who, and what the killer is until the very end. The characters are well defined and realistic, from the bitter, angry homicide detective to the chilling portrayal of a soul lost to madness. The dialogue is crisp, and direct, moving the story forward smoothly. While this is a suspense novel, there is also the underlying romance between Laurie and Cole, which is done so well, it blends into the main story flawlessly. Deadly Obsession is an intense story best read with all the lights on. I highly recommend this well-written novel to those who enjoy a murder mystery with enough suspense to keep them on the edge of their seat.

5.0 out of 5 stars Keeps your attention for hours! May 15, 2012

This was one of those great surprises in life. I had not read this author before, but I will certainly be looking for more from her. I found myself taking my Kindle to work just to sneak in a few more pages! A great mix of romance and suspense. Throw in a vampiric serial killer, tragic side-kick, two strong, independent leads with solid supporting cast, and you've got a story that will keep you trying to solve the mystery even in your sleep. Definitely a book to get you through a rainy weekend. Or, even a sunny one!

3.0 out of 5 stars I think I read a different book. June 19, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I tried to like this book, I really did!I was almost embarrassed to even write a review after all the great ones. Maybe it was me but I thought the writing was disjointed and all over the place. In the beginning of this book right after the second murder, she wrote that they could not tell if there were bite marks around the wound due to the condition of the body; about 19% into the book, the author wrote that the only thing they had for evidence or found similar was the bite marks around the neck of the 2 victims? I thought that she also stated or implied certain things over and over. One example is how beautiful and sexy both the main characters were... how sexy he found her. Some chapters weren't too bad and I would think, maybe this will get better, then the next chapter would be awful. Almost like the book was written by two different people. I skipped chapters because I didn't really care about the characters or what happened. I gave this book three stars because I felt bad about disliking it. This is just my opinion.
Just an FYI, I am now reading a fantastic classic: "A Kiss Before Dying" by Ira Levin.

I enjoyed this book. It was a quick read, however I wasn't as compelled to get the next book as I thought I'd be. Good book, it just didn't jump at me like some others have.
