Book Description

Deadly Offerings is an ebook with a blend of pulsing passion and razor-sharp suspense. It is the first adventure in this sizzling romantic suspense trilogy.

Anne Mason thinks she’ll be safe living in the Midwest building a wind farm. She may be dead wrong. Someone is dumping bodies in her corn field and telling Anne they are gifts—for her!

As the body count rises, Anne realizes a cold-blooded serial killer is patiently waiting and watching her every move. And he won’t stop until he ends her life. It is clear there are no limits to this killer’s thirst for revenge or how far he will go to get it.

After a nasty divorce, Anne Mason does not want to get romantically involved, especially with ex-husband’s attorney, Michael Brandt.

The ruggedly handsome new County Prosecutor is the last person Anne can trust, but may offer her only chance at survival from a psychopathic killer. But will she survive the passion that rages between them?

Editorial Reviews

Review

"Grace delivers enough sizzle to raise the temperature, showcases her talent for sharp repartee and executes the action like an ace fighter pilot. With riveting suspense and commanding characters, this is one addicting, must-have summer read." 4.5 out of 5 stars. --Diane Morasco, Reviewer for RT Book Reviews

"... great chemistry, a great sexual tension, and enough drama to fill a corn field... really great mystery, with just a touch of horror in the form of a serial killer...I definitely recommend this if you are into romantic suspense novels!" 4 out of 5 stars.
-- Liz at Fictional Candy

"With engaging characters, witty banter, a sexy hero, a feisty heroine, murder, suspense, romance, a serial killer, what's not to enjoy in this fast-paced romantic suspense. If you enjoy Cherry Adair and Catherine Mann's writing, you'll enjoy Alexa Grace. What a strong debut!" RATING: 4.5

--MyBookAddictionReviews

"My favorite thing about Deadly Offerings was the relationship between Michael and Anne. She wants absolutely nothing to do with him while he wants everything to do with her. She pushes him back and he pulls her forward and somewhere in the middle a spark was created and feelings start to bubble.

The feelings between them make it hard for the characters because Anne wants to be strong during these horrible events and protect, not only Michael's life, but also his career, thus she pushes him away. However, Michael cannot leave her side for the fear that something might happen to her and he wouldn't be there to save her.

I was constantly wondering who this killer was, what connection he had with Anne, and why he targeted her. This book was a good and quick read."

5.0 out of 5 stars fast paced and sexy January 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Deadly offerings captured my interest from the opening dialogue and held it until the final suspenseful ending...I hated to put it down--not only was the story line fast paced and thought provoking, the characters were hot, yet believable. The author used just the right amount of humor and wit to keep the book entertaining. I am looking forward to her next "deadly" novel.

5.0 out of 5 stars You Can't Put This One Down January 7, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This book is a lot of fun. It's suspeseful, action-packed and keeps you guessing throughout the book. There's never a dull moment. This book is one you will want to read in one sitting because you just can't wait to see what happens next. I'm really looking forward to finding out what happens between Lane and Frankie in the next novel, "Deadly Delivery."

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Well Written Book - Extremely Enjoyable Read February 25, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
At first I wasn't sure where the book was headed with the coincidental run ins of the two main characters and thought "here we go again" with an author trying too hard, but I was quickly pleased to find a solid novel that I was unable to put down for very long at all. Loved it!

1.0 out of 5 stars Sucks August 24, 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I was excited to read this one because I hadn't tried the author yet and it had consistently high review scores. Because it did, I had to write a review and warn off others.

Maybe it was the translation to eBook, but I found the writing style so sloppy that it distracted from the storyline. There were numerous points of view, which is ok in moderation. I like reading a scene from the heroine's point of view and then the hero's. But it switched randomly from first person to third person, one character to the next then to an unseen impartial viewer; confusing and weird. Also, the author was none too creative when it came to the love scenes. If I had to read about a "sensuous light" passing between the two main characters one more time, I was going to throw up. I can't even figure out what that means.

The author has a gift for description in places, but her characters are a little nutty. If I were Anne, and this guy saved me outside a bar but then shows up at a gas station where I happened to be the next night, and the new next door neighbor shortly after I moved, etc., I would think he was the stalker. In fact, part of me kept anticpating that would happen, and maybe save the story. Nope, Anne was fine with it. I also thought it was goofy that they saw each other, were very attracted but walked away for their own reasons, but then for a few times after that they didn't recognize each other right away. What? I usually recognize someone after I meet them once. I might not be able to place them exactly, but I put on a good show that I remember them.

I actually put this one down for a couple weeks and then picked it back up because I was on a road trip and didn't have anything else downloaded.

Sloppy writing, flat unrealistic characters. Save your time.

This book is terrible. The author writes the plot so that it all happens very fast, the main guy (pictured) is always there at the right place, perfect time- not realistic at all. There is a ton of build-up throughout the book of the murder mystery all to end in about 3 sentences at the end. There are about 25 typos and several sentences that do not make sense; e.g. "you can watch me kill your boyfriend die before I end your worthless life.... Michael shook his head. It was still as hot too dangerous to take." p. 287. Then the author makes a note to the reader saying if you give a positive review she will gift you her second book.
I will not be reading book 2 or 3.

2.0 out of 5 stars Repetitive and predictable May 22, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
It almost felt like brainwashing. Anne is beautiful. Mike is sexy. Over and over and over. I got it the first time - Anne is beautiful. Mike is sexy. I don't know if there was a word requirement from the publisher or not, but it sure felt like it.

The plot was pretty predictable and Anne was beautiful - but stupid. Mike was sexy - but creepy.

I can't recommend this one.

2.0 out of 5 stars A Disapointment July 12, 2012
By Trinity
Format:Kindle Edition
I love, love, love romance suspense books. So when I ran across this book and saw the price I couldn't wait to start reading this book. The book had so much potential it started out with a great storyline, likable characters and a crazy psycho villain. What more can you ask for right. I thought that I had read about annoying heroine before but this lady took it to a new level for me.

Anne's character ruined the book for me. Granted some of the things Michael did was a little to much at times but MY GOODNESS except help from people when a psycho is after you. Anne had absolutely no common sense whatsoever. I agree with another reviewer where the author has the heroine so independent that she's acting ridiculous. If I had to read one more time "I can take care of myself" no you can't crazy lady there's a psycho killer after you who has access to you whenever they want. I was drained it wore me out to the point I started skipping and didn't miss a beat. I know it was a cheap book what should I expect but I have read books that were really good and they were cheap. I just had so much potential. I'm not going to suggest you not read it because you may like it but for me NO.

1.0 out of 5 stars I must have read a different book... August 23, 2012
By Robyn T
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
After reading this book I'm at a loss to understand all the terrific reviews. This is just one of many books in which problems are miraculously solved in 2 or 3 lines and in which the male characters feel the burning need to protect the female after knowing the female characters for less than an hour. Ugh! This book also contains the "done to death" incompetent Sheriff who says things like, "If I tell you to stay in the back of my car, then you damn well better stay there until I get around to you." The writing is juvenile and unpolished. I won't be reading the next 2 books in the trilogy.
