Ann Christopher is indeed a master storyteller!,
This review is from: Deadly Pursuit (Paperback)
Few things you are sure will happen when you read any Ann Christopher's novels: (1) you will be entertained from the beginning to the very end, (2) there will definitely be one or two lol (laugh out loud) moments, and (3) you will be needing tissues before you get to the last chapter...., just to name a few.
The day I purchased Deadly Pursuit, I bought two additional books. I went ahead and read the other two first and saved Ms. Ann's for last. Have you ever read a book you hated to see come to an end? well, this one is up there on my list. Amara and Jack were the perfect couple, best love story! I loved every scene they had together, and with their secondary characters. This book is different from others by this author, not her usual romance novel, only better! Deadly Pursuit has it ALL, romance, humor, (yeah there were few of those lol moments I mentioned earlier) thrilling and suspense; at one point my heart was beating so fast, I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see what will happen next. I literally screamed when the verdict was read, the scene at the diner when Jack called Amara chocolate bunny, mmm! Go out and get this book! Deadly Pursuit is a must read and a keeper. If this is your first by this author, you will want to go back and read her other books, my personal favorite: Tender Secrets. Ms. Ann I love your style, I've read all your books and I enjoyed Deadly Pursuit immensely, it will be my greatest joy to see this book turn into a movie. I can't wait to see what you had planned for 2011.

Another winner!,

I have said this before but it is worth repeating, when you read an Ann Christopher book, satisfaction is guaranteed. This is another excellent example of feeling immensely satisfied that you are fortunate enough to take another ride with the characters in her book! Please read while in bed, when the kids are asleep and, on yes, keep a glass of water next to you... yes, it is hot!
On this journey, and oh what a journey from start to finish, you meet young and dynamic defense attorney Amara and undercover DEA agent Jack. Amara meets Jack in a diner, where he is hiding out as a cook. Jack's undercover work helped to take a dangerous kingpin off the street and with his testimony this criminal could go away for a long time but the problem is keeping Jack safe long enough to testify because the bad guy is killing everyone who is standing in between him and freedom. Amara and Jack are totally unprepared for the intense and immediate attraction they feel for each other. Now, I won't give away the story but they both end up running for their lives as Jack's cover is blown and the assassin is always just a few steps away. Please be assured that somehow they do find the time to discover each other on every level - emotionally as well as sexually; and as willing voyeurs, we are right there to enjoy every moment. I loved this couple but I also liked the secondary characters Kira, wife of the kingpin, and Dexter, Jack's boss. I hope there will be a book about those two because their chemistry was pretty interesting and I am curious to see if Kira remains unbroken. Ms Christopher does not disappoint.

Another PLEASING mix of romance and suspense...the chemistry between Amara and Jack is off-the-chart...and the suspense is a never-ending THRILLING roller coaster ride throughout...and I would LOVE to see a sequel with Kira and Dexter or maybe even Kerry, who TOTALLY surprised me with his outrage at what Kareem did to his wife...KUDOS Mrs. Christopher...a definite MUST read!

Thrilling!,

I've read just about every book Ann Christopher has written and I have to say that this one - thus far is my favorite. It made my heart pound more often than not in anticipation of how this story would turn out. The excitement wasn't just for Amara and Jack's crazy romance - but for the entire story line. I think that I'd like to see some of the secondary characters come back in a sequel! From start to finish, this was a captivating story.

A Real Adrenaline Rush!,
By BookMommy "BookMommy" (Birmingham, AL) - See all my reviews

I really enjoyed this book! Wow, Ann, wrote a very intriguing and pulse-pounding thrill ride. I appreciated her character study in Kareem--he was diabolical, but I would have like to know more about his back story. What made him so vicious? I think some insight would have propelled the story even higher. While the romance was hot, it almost became secondary to the action and I really liked that. I'm not a huge fan of sappy, mindless romance so this was right up my alley. I can't wait for more along these lines from this author. Kudos to Ms. Christopher for a job superbly done!

This book is a wonderful romantic suspense novel that keeps you on the edge of your seat. What I love most about this story is that the character development is superb. You're able to really understand each character's thoughts and motivation for handling situations. Because the book is fast paced and surrounds a court case, you get a real sense of the urgency surrounding the emerging love between Amara and Jack. Jack is often so tortured and conflicted about Amara because of his past that he fights his feelings all the way. Yet his protective instincts are always so strong regarding her. Mrs. Christopher has become one of my all time favorite romance authors because of the profound storytelling and character development she consistently brings to each of her novels. You will not be disappointed!

Loved this book. Love all of Ann's books but this one had some great suspense and adventure. One reviewer mentioned that there was a thread of sadness going through it - got that alright but in the end I was happy. Wish all of Ann's books were KINDLEd!!!

Awesome story!,
This review is from: Deadly Pursuit (Paperback)
I truly enjoyed this book. Even though there was a sad overtone to the whole story, I really liked it. Between Amara, Jack, Kareem, Kira and Dexter, I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I am not a real big suspense/thriller reader but this book definitely held my attention from start to finish. It was really good.
