4.0 out of 5 stars A detective story meets alien culture, July 31, 2005
This review is from: Deadly Silents (A Del Rey Books) (Mass Market Paperback)
I read this story a very long time ago as a young teenager, probably twenty five years ago now, so I may not be the most qualified person to review this one; but as no one else has I will give it a shot. I very much enjoyed this story when I first read it, enough that I even re-read it a few years later, something I seldom ever do. This one is about a murder on a planet where humans and aliens co-exist, and not just any murder: it looks as if the murder may have been done by an alien for inexplicable reasons. Sort of an early precursor to the I, Robot film I guess. I wish I could give more details; I would whole-heartedly recommend this one to any teen-aged reader; it is a good story, and I remember it fondly still a quarter century later. It really stands out in my memory. For adults, I imagine it is still a good story and might be worth tracking down.
