I have been looking for this movie since 1988 when I lost my VHS copy. I was an extra in this movie, was paid $50 a day, not bad for a High School kid back then. Kurt Russell was nice to all the crew and it was an experience I will never forget. BTW I am the big guy running away from the Red Mustang holding a shotgun.

Hard to find classic DVD and well worth it. They don't show classic movies like The Deadly Tower anymore on television so it's nice to know I can find just about anything on Amazon.com. The Deadly Tower is just as thrilling as I remember. DVD arrived in great condition in just a few days and I will order more DVD's in the future.

received "the deadly tower"when promised & was pleased with the quality for a tv movie! video was very good but the audio was even better...you could really hear those rifle shots like you were right there! this is not a "feel good"film but a fairly accurate description of a tragic event! kurt russel is outstanding as the troubled sniper( i believe his first dramatic role)! in a nutshell:very entertaining 90min.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Typical 1970's "Made for T.V." Movie, October 7, 2010
This review is from: Deadly Tower (DVD-R)
A highly entertaining movie based on an historical event. The thing that makes it a typical 70's Made for T.V. movie was the use of 70's model cars, and ambulances. They must have had a small budget. The other thing was I know quite a bit about the event, I've even worked with someone who was next to a guy that was killed that day. In the movie it was the guy who thought he was out of range....that was a dramatic interpretation of an actual event.
I also was wrong about when Kurt Russell broke out of his Disney All American Boy Image. I thought it was when he was "Snake Pliskin." Kurt was great as "Charles Whitman." Still, his best role was as "Rudy Russo/Polanski/Garcia/O'Hara/Washington Carver" in "Used Cars." That one's still a classic.
