I really ordered this on the spur of the moment when I needed an easy read on vacation. Was extremely surprised at the depth of the characters and how interesting the story was. I liked the interaction of the main characters and the plots were quite interesting. Look forward to the next installment of this series.

I purchased each of these separately in the past and loved them all. I highly recommended them to friends. I'm an English mystery fan - these have good characters, almost believable plots, good dialogue and a little romance built in also. I liked that Hetheridge is older and yet intelligent and attractive. This is an easy read - not as heavy as some of the Inspector Lynley books.

I read all of these individually.
What a wonderful set of mysteries. A sympathetic hero - Anthony Hetherige is a perfect gentleman who finds himself out of his own depth when he meets his match in Kate. With each book, the characters deepen and the mysteries are deliciously complex and well thought-out. There is a perfect villain in Sir Duncan. I can't wait to see more of him.

The characters really drive these stories and make them so much more than "murder of the week" episodes. I can't wait for book 4!

I had already read the first book in this series and thoroughly enjoyed it. When I saw that there was a box set I just knew that I had to get it. I re-read the first book and became just as hooked into the story and the developing characters as I did the first time. These books are quintessentially British which is only a small part of their charm. They are easy to read but are not without depth, plot twists and red herrings.

If you like British stories, humour and police stories, then I can pretty much guarantee that you will love reading these. Looking forward to the fourth book in the series, Black and Blue, to be released at a later date.

Having enjoyed Marriage Can Be Murder, the Dr. Benjamin Bones novel by this author, I looked forward to giving this series a try. Unfortunately I didn't enjoy this trio of books nearly as well. In contrast to the vivid descriptions, humorous characters and inventive plotting of the Bones book, I found the writing in the Hetheridge books rather pedestrian and formulaic. I also was disappointed to find the story line more contemporary romance (a genre not to my taste) than mystery, with unlikely circumstances surrounding the lives of the three principal characters and unrealistic relationships between them. Since I bought the books as a set, I finished all of them, but I won't be reading any subsequent entries in this series. I will however be keeping an eye out for further Dr. Bones books.

What a excellent series. The murder plots of all three are good, with strong themes tying them together. Definitely get this triple anthology or read the three books in order. You will want to follow the developing relationship between the older Lord in charge and his scrappy working class female detective. A frowned upon situation in New Scotland Yard. There is also a very evil villain lurking throughout, Sir Duncan, who appears to be untouchable. Besides this the English/Indian Detective is a total riot with his banter and quirky sense of humor. I am looking forward to the 4th book soon to be released, Black and Blue.

The mysteries are not earth shattering, but all of the characters are charming. I'm not going to write a synopsis of each book, I'm sure others will attempt that. Suffice it to say that the novels are quick reads that will keep your interest if you enjoy a British mystery. If you have trouble with British slang, or if it annoys the heck out of you, this may not be the series for you - these novels are peppered with it. I enjoy it, it makes me feel as though I'm right on the streets of London. I'm so looking forward to the fourth that I've put my name on the author's mailing list for updates.
