excellent,

This is a brilliant album. I've been into the band for a while and I can't wait for the new one. This CD shifts from mood to mood, while still keeping the same great dark industrial tone...
Blurred and Muted- Instrumental track. The music is almost eerie but fades wll into the next track Undone- nice synth background, good lyrics. catchy. Just like you- the synth part after the chorus almost makes you picrute some sort of demented freak show. powerful synth, good crunch guitar. Normal- strong song. with a begining that really draws you in. Send me and angel- cover song, really catchy and great use of synths once again. (MuBo is a genius) also very good drums. Breathe for me- my personal favorite. it's one of the only two tracks on the cd that use piano as well as everything else. it has a beautiful sound that, well, i can't really describe. just a great song. comes to tongue- hate to say it but it's probably the weakest track on the cd. it still sounds great, don't get me wrong, but somehow it seems to fall through. your fiend- great kinky song. reminiscent of NIN in the begining. therapy scares me- another strong start that pulls you in. great use of the synth, once again. how to destroy an angel- excellent guiitar/synth coordination ((if that makes sense)) and vocals are really awesome on this track. great lyrics as well. a deep breath- begining almost makes you want to skip ahead a few seconds. the sound is weak and mellow but it fits the song, so it turns out good. where the beauty ends- sounds dark and kick ass! the main focus is probably on the percussion beat vs. the synth. precious nothing- good way to end the CD. it's an angsty kill-tour-whore-cuz-you-thought-it-was-more-than-that song. the guitar and bass lines add to the strong sound along with dearborn's voice pouring over it all. it probably didn't help much, but it's here, and DSA is a great band all around so check them out.

I've heard about half of this CD, and it's a very unique sound. I love it, metal meets dark synth pop. I will be buying this soon to add to my cd collection.

A good start,

Let me explain why i gave this release 3 stars, because i really do love the album, however there are a few flaws with it.
As some may have said, the vocals in some songs aren't that great, while in others his aggression and singing can be heard clearly how it should be. The music is pretty well mixed, however i find that i need to sometimes adjust the settings on my car stereo to listen to this cd correctly like other cds. Ok, back to the point. The electronics in this cd are simply dazzling. The layers upon layers of synths and effects, which are very original sounding, only add to this band's heavy rock backdrop. This band also puts on a good live show, and plays these songs pretty much exactly how they sound here. So expect nothing less. If the samples turn you onto the band, i suggest buying this album. If you can't stand the vocals, well don't give up on them yet. As i said, this cd is a good start, a good debut. Their new album coming out this year, Unsaved, so far sounds like a giant leap forward in recording quality. Also, it sounds like Dearborn has improved his singing ability. I am looking forward to that. For now, check out this release, there should be something you like.
