4.0 out of 5 stars You can never have too much Cain!
After anxiously waiting, Ali Vali give us what we crave - more Cain and the Casey Crew in Deal with the Devil. This 3rd book in the series is satisfying yet leaves the reader wondering why Ms. Vali decided upon this specific ending. It almost is anticlimatic when the last 20 pages ( or last 2 chapter) is thrown at us. Was there a deadline that had to be met? I felt...

3.0 out of 5 stars Only three stars for this sequel
A third novel in the Cain crime family saga; unfortunately, this one wasn't as good as its two predecessors.

Cain and Emma are back, as are Hayden and Hannah. This time, the action focuses more on the supporting characters of Remi Jatibon, Anthony Curtis (a rogue FBI agent), Muriel (Cain's lawyer cousin), Shelby (another FBI agent who has the hots for...

I felt rushed at the end of the book like when the cleaning staff wants you to leave the theatre at the end of the movie. I wanted to savor this delicious tale and all its characters to the fullest. I definately recommend this book and hope you find it as filling as I did.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Loved It!, May 2, 2008

Having read the first two books of the series I really looked forward to the release of the third book. I was not disappointed. I didn't want it to end - a sign of a great book. I loved it!

This book introduces new characters and delves further into characters previously introduced, bringing them together with Cain and Emma for a continuation of the Casey Family Saga. Cain is the perfect host, the passionate lover and the strong hand. She's a butch with superior wit, who's a romantic but also both judge and jury if her wife Emma and their children are threatened.

Emma is supportive of Cain's family business and will support any steps taken to keep her family safe. She sees a side of Cain that no one else sees except the reader who views the romance between them and the vulnerability that Cain may sometimes show.

Remington Jatibon, one of the twins from the Jatibon Family and a friend of Cain's, meets Dallas Montgomery, a rising actress, and falls for her hard while unsure of her motives and who she really is. Remi is the heir apparent of the Jatibon family, her father and twin brother letting her take the active role, and teams with the Casy family in business.

The FBI is persuing them as usual but a bigger threat is on the horizon.

This book is a keeper. I can't wait for the next one, which Ali Vali has said she will write. Buy it. You won't regret it at all. I loved it!

Are you people crazy? This is a MUST read book, the third in the series.
Ali Vali continues her series with fast-paced action, hot-errotic sex scenes, devotion to duty, honor amoung thieves, and undying love for family.
Tension builds as C Casey is again pitted against the FBI and underhanded and dishonest drug runners.
Despite her questionable career, Casey again comes out looking like the good guy (butch) she is.
The depth of passion in which she loves and adores her family is honorable. Her wife Emma, keeps her heart safe, her mind sharp and her conscience alive.
The execution of Casey's planning is smart, entertaining and full of twists.
Ali Vali Keep you on the edge of your seat with twists and turns that are entertaining and well developed.
New characters and passionate lovers are introduced to keep the saga fresh and exiting.
A definate *****+ in my mind.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hard to put down, May 12, 2008

Each book in the series just keeps getting better. The characters are starting to become more dimensional and the passion just gets steamier!! I just can't get enough of Cain but with this book, I was drawn to Remi. The relationships and romance seem so dangerous at times you feel as if they are real and you are experiencing them. The ending is left at a cliff hanger so hopefully there has to be a fourth book. This series has become by far my favorite.

4.0 out of 5 stars Actually thought it was a better book, April 29, 2008

Unlike the previous reviewer, I actually thought this was a better book in the series. The action was good and seemed well paced. What is particularly intriguing is the way Vali builds the characters. Sometimes you have to remind yourself that these are actually supposed to be "bad" people. Cain Casey and Remi Jatibon are criminals, but they have a code of honor that's stronger than most of the law enforcement officals in the book. Of course, this is a book about New Orleans where the police have a reputation. Cain and Remi almost come off like Robin Hood characters. You know they're breaking the law, but it seems OK. I did wonder that most of these crime lords have females as their chief body guards, but I'm not surprised about the rest. I know many gay people who deliberately go to other gay people for their services, medical, legal, etc. I keep remembering what a writer friend of mine always says, it's fiction, anything is possible. The ending was a bit rushed for all of the build up it was given in the book, but overall this one is worth reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Keeps Getting Better, December 10, 2008

I have to admit that Ali Vali is one of my favorite authors in the lesbian fiction genre. She consistently delivers a quality product to her readers. Sometimes a series begins to lose steam by the time it hits the third installment. However the `Devil' series seems to be improving with each new story as Vali develops each character more fully and introduces new ones that add to the picture.

Here we are lucky to share company with a still-repentant Cain Casey who works hard every day to prove her love to wife, Emma. They are hoping to increase the size of their family, but that's really only a side note in this book. Cain is trying to stabilize their environment by partnering with another local crime family - the Jatibons. Not really knowing who can (or should) be trusted after the shenanigans they had recently faced, the relationship between the two families is somewhat strained for most of the book. However, they really have no choice but to ultimately trust each other.

In the meantime, the author brings in a love interest for Remi Jatibon in the form of actress Dallas Montgomery. Dallas has many secrets in her past - one of which could put her in jail for the rest of her life - and finds it difficult to trust Remi with the details. Of course, Remi has sources of her own that can dig into Dallas' past. How far will Remi go to protect the woman she has grown to love?

The tangled web of organized crime in New Orleans is fun to follow through the eyes of Vali the Casey family, and their various friends and associates.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovin It, October 22, 2008
This review is from: Deal with the Devil (Paperback)
I really love Ali Vali's books. I think I read The Devil books in like a month. Deal With the Devil was soo good. It literally kept me in suspense the entire time reading the book. I just hope that there is a part 4 because it kinda left me hanging at the end. The book mentions Hayden birthday so much that I was kinda hoping it would get into details about it.I would like to also know if Cain & Emma have another baby and what do they have. But besides that I've fallen in love with all the characters.

* But if anyone gets a chance to read In too Deep & Deeper by Ronica Black, maybe someone else can tell me how those books and The Devil Sagas are mostly exactly alike.. * -Just a thought.

Because I didn't want to read the third of a series without reading the first two, I bought all three. The three books were excellent! I really enjoyed the references to a city close to my heart, New Orleans, and the author's attention to detail. I am so glad that I ordered and read all three (in order) so that I had a better understanding of the relationship between Casey and Emma. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the Devil..., June 7, 2008
This review is from: Deal with the Devil (Paperback)
It was the best book in the series. More characters, more action and lots of romance, of course. I liked the fact things wasn't centralized around the relationship between Cain and Emma. Their story was told in the previous books and now was the chance to show some dimension, some depth from the other characters.
I'm waitin eagerly for the next book.
