Review

"Dealing with Denver is a well written story of two people at a crossroads. I would recommend you pick up this sweet read." - WeWriteRomance.com

From the Author

In the multi-faceted Romance genre, Dealing with Denver is considered a "sweet" or "traditional" romance. That is, although the hero and heroine meet, are attracted to each other, and fall in love while overcoming various obstacles, the physical side of their relationship is confined mostly to kisses. Thus, this book would be equally appropriate for both adults and for young adults.
Dealing with Denver, which is set in a fictional town in Tennessee, was a 2010 Award of Merit winner (Southern theme) in the Virginia Romance Writers' HOLT Medallion contest that recognizes "Excellence in Romance Writing."

More About the Author

Three of Carolynn Carey's manuscripts were finalists in the Golden Heart contest of the Romance Writers of America before her first book, A SUMMER SENTENCE, was published in 2005. A SUMMER SENTENCE, a contemporary romance set in a fictional small town named Barbourville, won an Award of Merit in the HOLT Medallion contest and finaled in the Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence contest. FALLING FOR DALLAS, the second in the Barbourville series, was also an award winner. The third Barbourville book, DEALING WITH DENVER, was recognized with an Award of Merit in the HOLT Medallion contest. Most recently, both THE FORGOTTEN CHRISTMAS TREE (a Barbourville novel) and MY CUPCAKE, MY LOVE were awarded first place by readers judging the HOLT Medallion contest for 2014.

Carolynn was born and raised in a small town in Tennessee, which explains her pleasure in writing contemporary romances set in Tennessee towns. But as a long-time fan of Georgette Heyer, she also enjoys reading and writing about the Regency period in England. Carolynn's first published Regency, COMPROMISING SITUATIONS, won the National Readers' Choice Award in the Regency category and the 2008 Laurie Award for Published Authors. Her novel entitled MY ELUSIVE COUNTESS is set in the Regency category, as is THE SECRET CHRISTMAS CIPHERS, which won an Award of Merit in the 2013 HOLT Medallion contest.

Mattie and Denver are visitors to Barbourville, TN. He is visiting one of his fellow triplets who married a local girl and moved there. Mattie is seeking her birth mother while writing a travel article about the cottage where Denver is staying.

Together the join forces to find her birth mother.

This enchanting story is a wonderful spring read. The characters are well drawn as is McCrary, County, TN. It was lovely to visit characters from earlier books.

This is a wonderful book for mothers and tween daughters to share. There is no violence, sex or objectionable words. This would also be a good book for book-clubs to discuss looking for birth parents or not looking for them.

The author has again written an interesting story and introduced a new character, Mattie Meadow, to her readers. The book truly illustrates small town USA as it actually exists. The book flows well and the plot moves nicely. I really appreciate that Carolynn has lots of different characters in her previous books who are interwoven and reappear in this book. I would recommend reading the author's two other books to gain a more indepth understanding of the characters. This book can be read quickly and I look forward to the author's next book on Barbourville, TN.

Dealing with Denver is the perfect blend of small-town charm and all the best that families have to offer. Mattie, the heroine, charms the reader immediately. The plot twists keep the reader guessing until the end. The characters and setting remind the reader that times can be simpler and that happiness is within our grasp. A charming, engaging read that I highly recommend!

I felt this book had a better and more emotional storyline than Falling for Dallas. I gave it 4 stars, but it's more a 3.5 stars for me. I wish there was more time spent developing the relationship. It starts out with a physical attraction; they share a few kisses here and there; then they get married. They also drink a lot of decaf coffee.

Ms. Carey's book trilogy about a set of triplet men, all that each harbor secert different life other than there crazy Law Practice in The Windy City. They each have 1 thing in commen other than there gorgeous good looks, they all care & Love there Niece who is only 6 yrs young than them, from there older sister who past away when there niece was still young. Even though she has a father & friends & now a Hubby with triplet girls of her own. Her meddling Uncles can't seem to help themselves. Each one has there own book about there life & feelings, but visiting there niece who desided to move away to a small town in Tenn. Called Barboursville where her Hubby & his family is from. Each Male Triplet leaves one at a time to go check on Megan (the Niece), to find someone interesting to catch there eye & more importantly there heart. Each book tells the story of how 1 ends up falling inlove & finding themselves somewhere they have been trying to get there niece to move away from & back where they thought she belonged. Only to discover, there's more than meets the eye in this small town & even possibly a move & career change for themselves!!! What can make a man change his own focus & give up a big Law firm & nice homes in The Windy City of Ill.??? Of course only 1 thing!!! (A Woman) of course. Denver, the middle of the triplets is a lil bit more concervitive than Dallas, but a lot more laid back than Dayton who was born 1st so he thinks he has to take care of everyone including his same age brothers. Denver decided to take detour to go visit his niece & his youngest triplet bro Dallas after he was in Florida for a security confrence that he likes to do on the side with a friend of his who does it for a living.Read more ›

I loved this book from beginning to end. Hopefully in the near future the other two books in this series will become available for Kindle readers. When they are...you can be assured that I'll be one of the first ones in line to purchase them.

Mattie and Denver are visitors to Barbourville, TN. He is visiting one of his fellow triplets who married a local girl and moved there. Mattie is seeking her birth mother while writing a travel article about the cottage where Denver is staying.

Together the join forces to find her birth mother.

When Denver shows up unexpectedly, he decides to stay at his triplets vacation cottage. Only he didn't know that it was already occupied, but what a wonderful surprise Mattie turned out to be. Sparks start to fly almost immediately and they band together to find the woman who gave Mattie away long so long ago.

This book has it all, light suspense, mystery, humor, and in the end....a rapidly growing beautiful romance.
