About the Author

The Rev. Dr. John R. Throop is an Episcopal priest and vicar of Christ Church Limestone, an Episcopal parish just outside of Peoria, Illinois. He has served congregations in Illinois and Ohio in his 18-year ministry. During his ministry he has worked not only in parish ministry but also volunteered in community crisis response teams as a volunteer hospital chaplain and as the first fire department chaplain in Chillicothe, Illinois. He also serves as chaplain of Proctor Endowment Home, a retirement community in Peoria.
