A search under Dean Martin will yield hundreds of hits, quite a few of which are excellent compilations of both his Capitol and Reprise years with excellent sound and numerous pages of liner notes/discographies, etc. This 1990 release by LaserLight of West Germany, a budget outlet of Delta Music Holding AG, provides nothing in the way of information, although the sound quality is decent.

Also, while most of the tracks are immediately familiar to any Dean Martin fan, being among his biggest hit singles and therefore readily available on numerous other (and better) collections, this one does include a few cuts not that easy to find elsewhere. Such as Rio Bravo, which came out in March 1959 on Capitol F4174 but failed to chart (Dean appeared in the film Rio Bravo with John Wayne and Ricky Nelson), and his 1955 cut of I'm Yours which appeared in his first Capitol album T-401 "Dean Martin Sings." Other Pop sides include When You're Smiling which first came out in 1952 as a single on Capitol F1975 (did not chart) and later in the 1955 Capitol LP T-401, "Dean Martin Sings," while Write To Me From Naples was initially issued as the 1957 Capitol F3752 single (uncharted) and later with Buona Sera in the 1958 Capitol LP T-1047 "This Is Dean Martin." Brahms Lullaby was part of his 1959 album "Sleep Warm" on Capitol LP T-1150.

Showing his Country side, you get his rendition of the classic Country hit, My Heart Cries For You from the 1963 Reprise LP R/R9 6061 "Dean 'Tex' Martin Country Style," the Hank Williams immortal "Take These Chains From My Heart" from the 1965 Reprise LP R/RS 6170 "(Remember Me) I'm The One Who Loves You," and from the 1969 Reprise LP RS 6338 "I Take A Lot Of Pride In What I Am" comes his fantastic rendition of the Buck Owens hit, Crying Time. It also came out that year on the single Reprise 0857, but for some strange reason did not chart. Then you get Release Me (And Let Me Love Again) from the 1967 Reprise LP 6750 "Welcome To My world."

All in all, not a bad little volume which would have rated 5 stars with something simple like liner notes and a discography of the contents. LaserLight also released other Dean Martin CDs titled You Belong To Me, one a single CD, one with 2 CDs, and another with 4 - all with the same cover and containing a number of his earliest Capitol singles, most of which failed to dent any charts when released in the early 1950s.

His hit singles in here are: That's Amore - Capitol F2589 - # 2 December 1953; Sway - Capitol F2818 - # 15 August 1954; Memories Are Made Of This - Capitol F3295 - # 1 (for 6 weeks) - December 1955 (with The Easy Riders); Innamorata - Capitol F3352 - # 27 April 1956; Return To Me - Capitol F3894 - # 4 May 1958; Angel baby - Capitol F3988 - # 30 July/August 1958; Volare (Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu) - Capitol F4028 - # 12 Aug/Sept 1958; Everybody Loves Somebody - Reprise 0281 - # 1 Billboard Pop Hot 100 and Adult Contemporary (AC) - 8 weeks at # 1 AC - July/August 1964.
