This Album Is Great!, October 9, 2001
This review is from: Dean Miller (Audio CD)
Excellent songwriting and musicianship make up a CD of eleven musical masterpieces. Every song is worthy of becoming a classic: The heartbreak ballad, "I Used to Know Her," the haunting "Broke Down In Birmingham," and "Dreams," featuring Trisha Yearwood. "Wake Up and Smell The Whiskey" and "My Heart's Broke Down" are fit for the liveliest honky-tonk. Other songs worth a listen are "Heartbreak USA" and "Take The Long Way Home." This CD should have done better than it did, but country radio doesn't play country anyway. If you like artists in the same league as Dwight Yoakum and Radney Foster, then this CD is for you.

WOW ! And a new CD is coming soon !!, July 7, 2003
This review is from: Dean Miller (Audio CD)
This CD is absolutely increbible. Without a doubt it is the most overlooked of all country albums in the past few years.
DEAN MILLER is an outstanding entertainer in every sense of the word. There is something for everyone here !!
I had once told someone that if I could meet anyone on earth before I died it would be Roger Miller......but, Roger is gone now and I have found that I have a new answer ...... Dean Miller.
This is one outstanding performer.

The acorn doesn't fall far from the tree...., June 15, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Dean Miller (Audio CD)
Country music, make that good country music, has always been a family affair. Dean Miller, son of the late Roger Miller, proves that theory time and again. I originally picked this album up because I am a big Roger Miller fan. However, Dean as a musician won me. His style is different, but what son hasn't tried to emerge from their father's shadow? His songs are crafted....truely crafted like a good song should be. There is definatly the hint of the Miller legacy in the song craftsmanship, and with producer Gregg Brown (Travis Tritt's old producer) at the board this is a hell of an album. The people that have overlooked this disc are fools. Everyone needs to listen to Dean and his message. Not because of his heritage, but because he can float in the water on his own! The music rocks....this is what a good record should sound like. Nashville, take notice!

This album is brilliant from start to finish. I can't believe it has been so overlooked. It is definitely the best Country album of the year! It contains deep songs, fun songs, rocking songs, sad songs, all with great lyrics and great production. Don't miss this album!

An Incredible Debut Album, June 13, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Dean Miller (Audio CD)
From the first song on this debut album to the last there is no doubt that Dean Miller is the genuine article. If you want real country with strong lyrics from a truly talented songwriter look no further. "Dean Miller" was listed in the New York Times' top ten albums of the year and well deserved it. In an arena filled with half-gallon heads in ten gallon hats and music growing ever more homogenized, Dean Miller stands out as a real talent. This is just a damn fine album and all but one of the songs were penned by Miller himself. This one might make the most hardened opponent to country take a second listen. A truly fine collection of songs from a truly fine artist. Buy this one!
