Overall quality of the guitar is above average, with an exceptional nod to visual quality.
Definately a "pretty" guitar on stage.
The sound that is produced is quite tinny and quiet, which can be overlooked based on its resonance size and fretwork of the guitar.
It really does not matter what type of accoustic steel strings you use, as the tonal quality will be fairly consistent.
In my case, I use D'Addario strings.
Attaching the guitar to an amplifier improves quality greatly, just keep the amp clean and volume controls low in order to avoid massive feedback hum.
The bottom line is you get what you pay for here.
A good entry + level guitar, which sounds and looks like a $600-750 guitar.
Keep up the good work Dean!

The guitar itself is very nice, beautiful to look at and clean sounding. This is my second Dean instrument, and they have not disappointed me. I don't usually care for electronic gizmos, but the Aphex tuner and equalizer built into the guitar are very handy.

I was really looking forward to this as a Christmas present, and Amazon shipped it promptly. But they shipped it in the flimsy cardboard product box without any extra protection at all, and it arrived broken. So as a caution to other purchasers, be prepared and inspect your instrument carefully when you get it. Mine was obvious (hole punched through the box into the guitar) but the box is not very rigid so you could have neck or body damage that are not as evident just looking at the box.

Dean's done a great job with this guitar and epecially at this fantastic price, it's really value for your buck if you're a player wanting to have a quality product at a reasonable cost.

If you're primarily going for looks, the transparent quilt ash is superb. The design is attractive in all types of light.Dean's addition of gold tuners and golden celluloid binding really complements the blue colour. Pearl block inlays on the fret, abalone the rosette and a nice pearl dot on the Dean logo rounds of a beautiful instrument.

Unplugged, it's not very loud as to be expected from a small guitar. It comes with D'Addario strings (12 or 13 gauge) adjustable truss rod and set at medium action. Sound is twangy with some hints of bass but it's overall very clean. Nice resonance as well. Sound gets really highlighted when plugged in with Dean's collaboration with Aphex really enhances warmer tones and larger sounds. Built in digital tuner is a nice bonus as well.

Overall it's a really nice buy if you're looking for an instrument to practice or take out once without that fear of damaging it. Dean's done a good job with creating this guitar and looking forward to seeing what they have to offer in the future.

At first I was a little disappointed because of how lite the guitar is compared to my other Dean acoustic! Then I plugged it in and became aware of its purpose. It's made primarily for stage and when plugged in it sounds awesome!!
