When I was in the market to buy a new guitar I knew i would not want a pre-owned guitar. most times when you buy something that was pre-owned you get the full package. meaning you get the good with the bad. So like all of my purchaces I make sure i select (New) the day I purchaced my New guitar, A Dean Performer/VS color Black. I was pretty excited. This would be my 7th guitar. but my first eletric/acoustic model. I had 2 eletrics before one bass and one standard. both fenders. I enjoy the sound of the steal string acoustic much more though. Well I waited for the arival of the Guitar. Soon as it arived I rushed to the UPS store, to pick it up. I returned to my barracks room and opend the box. at first i was thrown off because it was not the style I had orderd. I had orderd the Black Model, it was the red amber model. no biggie i can deal with that. well it did not take long to tune the guitar. every thing seemed to be ok. I gave the guitar a slight look over. and tested all the strings. then i tested fret by fret. strings 2-6 played beautifuly. however the 1st string (E) played good until the 7th fret. then it would not play a note until the 16th fret. this caused quiet an upset. I checked the bridge and the nut. bothe seemed to be fine. the problem was in the neck. and along the fret bars. as i futher examind the guitar i could see fadeing in the color. even slight cracks and filled in Chips the guitar had been pre-owned and referbished. The store I purchased it through on Amazon not only faild to send me the right color guitar but a used guitar. You have a choice when purchacing an item on amazon. you see the option when you are placing it in your cart. one line reads buy (NEW) the other line reads (Used and New) i clearly selected the New for the larger price. I have tried to contact the seller over this issue and I am now trying to contact the Dean store in florida. I am hoping i can get a fresh repair or the new guitar I origanly orderd. I hope that this does not sway you from amazon. I have only good things to say about this website. but i have not so good things to say about the seller.
