Dean diecast tuners.

The Dean Vendetta Series
With four models to choose from, the Vendettas have string-through-body design, classic Dean V Ferrule pattern, dual Humbuckers, a 25.5-inch scale, and solid mahogany bodies with a maple neck. The Vendetta 1.0 and 2.0 are bolt-on models with black hardware. The 2.0 model features a solid flame maple top. The Vendetta 3.0 and 4.0 sport neck-through construction with the Pearl Evil Eye inlay running the length of the fretboard. The 4.0 version has a beautiful quilted maple top and is available in an all too popular "Tiger Eye" finish.

Paulownia Body
Paulownia is an increasingly popular substitute for mahogany in more affordable guitar models. It's a fast-growing, hearty tree native to Japan and Southeast Asia, and has traditionally been used for Asian string instruments.

As a lightweight, porous body wood, Paulownia is somewhat similar to swamp ash in its sonic signature: very resonant, with plenty of chime and a nice, tight low-end.

Bolt-On Construction
The Vendetta XM uses bolt-on construction, an affordable alternative to set-neck or thru-body designs. The advantage of this design is that if you do have any neck trouble down the line, you can easily replace it.

The maple neck features an ultra-playable 24-fret rosewood fingerboard, with classic dot inlays.

Dean Humbucker Pickups
To capture the biting tones of vintage Deans, the company includes two humbuckers. These pickups should provide more than enough bite for modern styles, along with plenty of low-end and midrange definition. The standard three-way selector allows bridge, neck, or a combination, and volume and tone controls are provided.

Dean Diecast Tuners
Dean's sealed diecast tuners offer solid tuning and mechanics, for a long lifetime of dependable performance.

Vintage Tremolo Bridge
Add a little flavor to your playing, from subtle vibrato to full-on dive bombs.

I can't believe people are knocking off stars for color, when does anything you order online look 100% the same?
SEE PIC!

Pros:
1. Amazing sound quality from pickups (Fantastic metal/gain). I can't stress this enough, sounds the same as other $600 guitars I've owned.
2. Solid Construction (no 'cheap' feel to it at all).
3. I even like the factory nickel plated strings, I bought new string when I got the guitar thinking they would be bad.
4. PRICE! $99 with free shipping???? How could anyone rate this less than 5 stars?

Cons:
1. In some very very minor areas around the guitar body, there are light imperfections
2. Yes, the color of mine was a dark natural/cherry black color (not full black like others have claimed).

Hope this helps out!

Plays Great ! I was looking for some open mike night guitars. Not collector items. This Dean guitar plays flawlesly so far. The humbuckers sound as good as a Les Paul. Great action , intonation. If you are looking for a great guitar at a great price this is the way to go. I am playing through a Fender Music Man 130 watt 2 -12s amp and it sounds as good as a Stratocaster or Gibson.

Peace

I bought this guitar and it was a huge upgrade from my past guitar. The guitar itself is amazing for the price. But the only problem is that it isn't the color its advertised as. Its not that wooden color it says it is, its just black. But the guitar is good with no big problems. Just the wrong color....

Where do I begin... The shipping was quick, it was tracked everywhere it went so I could always keep an eye on the status of my order, it was delivered quickly and arrived several days before the estimated delivery date. The packaging was durable and neat, they even payed attention to the small details like the knobs and the switch, even the tremolo bar was in its own protective case, the guitar was in pristine condition when I recieved it. The sound is better than I expected, I am familiar with the Dean guitar brand so I wasn't expecting much but this guitar is amazing. It is darker than depicted but that was easy for me to overlook. I have been playing guitar for several years, I can definitely say this is a quality instrument.

Just got this delivered today. This guitar has great distortion. Even better than most Ibanez guitars for the same price range. You may think it's not all that at first but once you play it until the strings wear in then it really clears up to its full potential, just like any new guitar. Its clean tone is definately better than Squier and has a really clear bright tone. When looking at this guitar I always wanted to know what the clean tone sounded like (without any really good answers to it at all) and it is definately a relief to find out that it sounds extremely clear, almost to the same sound as a Gibson SG. The tremelo is very very smooth as well. The only problems that I had with this guitar is that the headstock was chipped just a tiny bit but that still does not affect the sound at all. Also it didn't arrive in the color advertised. It's more of a dark cherry/apple/wine red. So to sum it up, this guitar should be advertised more than a "beginner guitar" because of its extremely great clean and distortion tone and you should definitely buy. I know this will be my main guitar for at least the next 3 to 4 years or so.

I have purchased 2 of these now, i love the guitars, but for some reasons, they tend to advertise that it will come in all natural wood, or a transparent black wood color, neither of the guitars i have purchase were right, they both came in flat black, so my advice is, expect that. only order if u "wood" be happy with black also.

This was the second Vendetta I've purchased. I waited about a month to write this so I could really get a feel for it, rather than just unboxing it and writing without giving it a real test run. I went with the natural finish this time and I can't even put words to how pleased I am with it. Aesthetically, the guitar is beautiful. The stock photo makes the finish look like a mahogany with a honey undertone but the actual color is closer to a dark cherry, almost dark earth-tone brown in low light but spectacular in normal light. The neck is attractive, well built, and, so far, seems to be consistent with regard to fret height and spacing. Solid keys on the head, too as I switch up tuning several times every time I play. The knobs, although metal and sturdy, feel a little generic but they do go well with the overall look and feel. The pickups look a little on the cheap side, given how attractive the guitar is but they function perfectly. Overall, the Vendetta is a study, solid piece and is simply unbeatable for the price.

I keep another guitar baritone. This is one I use to practice scales and chords in standard E because it's light and comfortable, so I can practice for longer periods. Sounds fine considering the cheap pickups and cheap wood. For the price, this really is unbeatable. Some people will not like the fact that my guitar color is NOT like the picture: it's so dark it almost black. Blackish purple. Such a thick layer of stain you cant see the wood grain at all. See the pics. Luckily, after I got over it, I actually like the way it is better :-) (I bought this guitar somewhere else).
